Common Name: Coneflower Genus: Echinacea Cultivar or Variety: Cheyenne Spirit
Characteristics of Plant
Cheyenne Spirit is a hybrid Echinacea that took the 2013 AAS Flower Award. I feel this Echinacea deserved the awards it received. This is the first echie in a while that I have been really excited about.
Some of its qualities are that it is a first-year bloomer from seed. It has multiple branching and multiple blooms. It is quick to mature into a blooming size plant and the colors are spectacular.
Colors can range from a golden type of yellow, reddish-orange, vibrant orange to purple and white.
While I have not seen the purple or white blooms yet, I have seen the other colors. There is no way to tell which color you will get from the seed, but what makes this plant even more interesting and a beautiful display in the garden is that with each color the petals are all different shaped.
