A charming rock garden or cottage garden flower. Potentilla porphyrantha generally blooms during the summer months of July and August with a long blooming season.

During blooming season it sports a rosette of tomentose type foliage that is white in color. From the rosette, small stems begin to emerge that result in large, dark-eyed, purplish-pink flowers.

Germination can be slow taking up to 1-3 months. Plant plenty of seed as viability is usually pretty poor for this plant. It is best to propagate by cutting.
