Characteristics of Plant
Aconitum napellis is a beautiful perennial plant that is also considered a medicinal herb. Warning though if using for medicinal purposes. It can be toxic to humans if not taken in the proper dosages.
The plant not only has beautiful lacy foliage but, it produces stunning bright purple flowers that are hooded to look at causing the common name of Monkshood.
It is best to always plant fresh seed. If seed must be stored, keeping it in the freezer works the best. Better germination can be achieved by giving the seed a cold chill or winter sowing.
If planting seed in the early spring it can take up to nine weeks for germination.
