A biennial plant that can grow to 6' tall. Dark reddish-purple arise in the summer months of July and August.
Angelica can be used as a cutting flower and makes a nice tall back of the border type plant.
Please note that Angelica giga IS NOT an edible herb. That is Angelica archangelica which has the common name of Wild Parsnip.
Germination of seeds can be slow and can happen over the course of 2 years. Winter sowing can help somewhat with the germination. Otherwise give seed a cold chill of 40F for 4 weeks and than move to warmer temps of 68F. |
