Ella's Garden Plants from A to Z: Armeria formosa, 'Joystick White', Thrift

Common Name: Thrift

Genus: Armeria

Species: formosa

Cultivar or Variety: 'Joystick White'

Characteristics of Plant
A beautiful long blooming perennial that will bloom from seed in its first year if seed is sown early in the spring. A great landscape as well as cutting flower.

The leaves have a mounding habit. From it tall stems of globed white flowers emerge.

This plant is pretty well self-cleaning. It prefers a bit of a drier type soil. It doesn't like having too wet of roots. Full sun or full sun to part shade, but too much shade will produce fewer flowers.

Shop seed from these EG member's stores.
