| Sorry Folks ... The Barn Doors do not open until 6pm CST / 7 EST this evening. Milling about is acceptable but no pushing and shoving. | Welcome.. Welcome... To the Hog Wild Barn Dance! Hope ya all brought your dancing shoes. There plenty of mud to wallow in for sure. Fresh hay scattered around for ya to relax and lounge on. So make yourself comfy while I tell ya all a little story of the piggies who could fly. Today is very cloudy and so excuse the poor pics. It not easy trying to hold coffee cup in one hand, steer with other and stay on my side of the road and shot a camera at same time without hitting anything. This is how piggies fly home. First we get my lemonzine all ready. Te rear view mirror fell off a couple of years ago , so Charleen, here the piggy mobile new emblem hanging off the front. Hope ya all don't mind that the car didn't get a bath.  What's a little dirt and mud between piggies gonna hurt? Figured ya all wouldn't mind. We have take off.  Going down the road singing at the top of my lungs, off key, " On the road again, Piggy boxes on the road again. ......." Them piggy boxes is just a squeeling so loud. Hope no police around as between the boxes and me, we exceeding the legal noise volume.  Now what do we have here? I stop sign? Now that presents a real problem. I can't stop. No..No..No I have piggy boxes to get to the po. Beside s if I stop, somebody gonna wanna get out and check out the country side and then I will be chasing piggies all over the field. best to ignore it and keep on trucking. Now this is better, but they haven't quite got the sign right, it should be a piggy crossing as all these boxes gonna cross the road here.  This little piggy is sneaking out of the bag they was in in case it rained. This piggy is dreaming of what it wants to be when it grows up as we pass the local junior high school.  Yippee!!!!!! Piggies squealing and hollering all over the neighborhood as they handed into the local post mistresses hands. I have to tell them to all settle down and wait their turns while she weighs each one of ya to see how fat ya got. Some piggies packed on the pounds for sure.   And meet the local mail lady who through, rain, sleet, ice and ice brought all you piggie s to me.  Two and half hour s later, piggy boxes are jumping in and buckling up in the piggy mobile, lots classier than my old jalopy to get ready to fly to you.  I start singing,, On the road again, glad to be back on the road again.. While I make the journey home.  The piggie s are officially on there way.!!!!!!!  Party time! |

| Got plenty of coffee for those folks who need it. Post Mistress gave me a bunch of chocolate, I would share with ya, but then I would have to shovel the barn out later and too lazy to do that. Wonder if pig manure good for the soil?  Now while ya all party let me explain few things for all the new piggies and a couple of updates. |

| First, I want to thank everybody for participating and for the months of fun and fellowship. We've had a really diverse crowd this year. We have ha d several long haulers, we have some teens in the group, some experienced folks and some who have never traded or done a swap before or even gardened for that matter, and then ya have old codgers like me. Through it all, lots of new friendships have been formed. I especially want to thank Tcs and Lebug who without this would not be a yearly event. They part of the back bone too. .... ( slow typing here.. to be continued) |

| Now it is our hope her e at EG that even after you get your boxes that you will continue on the journey her e with us. This thread never closes. It will continue on til the swap next year. Hopefully ya all will hang around and help those folks that got your seed to learn how to germinate and take care of the new babies they gonna have..... |

| Star, TCS and LeBug, you guys are just THE BEST to host and work this out for everyone every year and big hugs and great big GOD BLESS YOU to each of you. And THANKS to Ella's postal workers who take so much time taking care of our piggy boxes and getting them off to us. Be sure to send a special thank you to them from all of us. Thank you to all who gave me seeds and sure hope I can make you proud by growing some of them and passing some of them to new members who need seeds to start off with . Here is to your wonderful gardens this summer. May your gardens be weed free and grow strong and bloom all summer. |

| Absolutely. That's what I'm most looking forward to because I know almost nothing about wintersowing and even less about growing perennials from seed, so I'm going to need lots of help. Joseph and I are edibles growers mostly, so being around all of you flower people has got to rub off even a little bit. Grazie a tutti, Julianna |

| Now, evry year, I always miss something. I did miss a couple of things. First, the maybe tea seeds. Well.. they in somebody's box and I have no idea of who. I had them sitting on table to split along with few other requests and when I started pitching seeds into troughs I guess I scopped them up too and didn't realize it til it was too late. Sorry folks.Also, I had over 1,200 oinks from folks, and with all the paper work , I added for a few things instead of subtracting. So a few folks may be missing a packet of seeds. I divided out the best I could. Close call this year between me and Tuink for requests.LOL Those who asked for Cat grass. I have no idea where it hiding, when I find it will send it on to ya. That is if it didn't get scooped up too and accidentally tossed into the general trough. .... |

| Thank you so very much Ella! I'm really glad that I participated in Hogwild seed swap! I lurked over here for a couple of weeks, at least, before I was able to jump in and join! It's been a fun time sharing my seeds and meeting everyone else in the group sharing theirs!! What fun it's going to be growing so many seeds that I've been wanting to try and so many other seeds that I might never have thought of trying! How great is that? I think it's fantastic!!! Cheers to you Ella! You have made a happy piggy here!! LOL YeeHaw! I look forward to all the future chats about growing stuff!!  FAITH over fear! |

| Now let me say this..... Some folks got a bit carried away with their oinking. Til I do the counts, it hard to tell who been doing the midnight snacking as some folks cmaile d and didn't post or repeated posts. So this is what happens. This a fair swap a s fair a s I can make it. It not perfect , but w e try our best. If you was a heavy oinker, for you newbie s this is what happens. I took your one to ones and deducted them from your over oinks, so you may not see loose packets in your box of extras. Now if you was a piggy that went way over board. Than you may be missing a few seeds from me. I count every packet that goes in your box. My seeds go in last as that the only way I can make adjustments. The folks her e spend alot of time and effort growing and maintaining and collecting and packaging their seed to share with you, and they give freely, but we don't allow any one person to go too wild and crazy. So when ya get your box if ya have a question as to why something missing, feel free to cmail me, it may that I have been out or you went way above the about 250-260 range of packets and I put ya on a crash diet. .... |

| Now those folks her e instate s getting the cactus. It will be going out on Monday in separate envelope. I waiting a couple of days to make sure your boxes have head start. Po might think it strange ya getting a box and a squishy package at same time. Be careful opening your boxes and go through them very carefully. Some folks shared something with everybody, so don't just grab seeds and throw everything else out. ..... |

| LOL... The regular piggies I think eating on some of last years food so they didn't oink too bad this year. They learned from last year and next year you newbie s will be pros. Liek OI say this year really one for diversity. Divers e in the creative ways folks mad e their packets and how they label, even the type of seed this year. Now some of ya gonna be saying ewwwwwwwww I didn't want that or I don't like that from your one to one or extras. look at your don't want lists, but have to share with everybody from what comes in, so that means ya gonna get something ya don't like. Here's what ya do... |

| First, you can try and germinate and grow even a couple of them. Who know s you may just like them. Also, as you have seen weather can play havoc on folks areas and you may have the only seed to help replace for future generations. Now if ya really don't like what ya got, than your free to trade it. Feel free to us e the seed trading forum here, http://cubits.org/ellasgarden/forums/view/seedtrading/ Just plop a post up. Heck Cubits has thousands of plant folks and somebody may want to trade ya for them for something you do want. ,..... |
