Some folks have sent positive notes about an image I posted related to my favorite subject, flowers in art. So, once a day or so, I thought I would post something along those lines. I will be using - loosely - a standard art history frame that organizes them by their place in history according to time, place and style. You will be learning along with me as we go. The title of each entry will begin with the last name of the artist, so I can find it. I write it exactly as I do the label for my computer, so sometimes abbreviate: 1st artist, 2nd title, 3rd a date and/or code for source. Any comments would be much appreciated. As this list changes, this post will be updated. Sooner or later, links will break, so google the artist's name + a key word in the painting or vice versa. I have a request to make of anyone who may use this information from me: If you post anything from here, would you purty please humor me and put the name of the artist with the work of art? Most of this is considered open domain, which refers to art created after 1923 in the USA (varies between countries) that is not under copyright of something like heirs. So you can do what you want with open domain images, but my hope is that you will honor the artist. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ FLOWERS IN ART Hibiscus mutabilis (Confederate Rose) Hibiscus mutabilis (Confederate Rose) -- Context/Garden 21st cen Zou Chou'an An, Hibiscus mutabilis ?2005 http://kozzza2004.livejournal.com/tag/китай (The first link below this image leads to more of his artwork) ------------------------------------------------------------ Primula sp.
