Quoting:From Corey.. NEWS FLASH:

Post Office tracking computers ground to a halt today due to massive numbers of piggies checking their shipments every few minutes. Homeland Security investigated the possibility of a new terrorist group composed of flying piggy gardeners. Experts say this is unlikely: they are only home-grown lunatics.

Andi, I’m WS and putting my jugs in the garage I’ve just done a few so far but we are getting temps in the 50’s this weekend I’m not complaining I like it to go back and forth but gosh, hope you have somewhere you can put them it's so damp and cold in my garage no worries about them being too warm in there!

chelle, the cat lady I work for caught a skunk in one of her traps he just sat there while she opened the door VERY SLOWLY and he went out of it no nice perfume I think she was very lucky! Do you ever pitch a cover over the possum’s cage chelle it kind of calms them down for when you take them away of course sometimes they get the cover all tangled up in the trap cage and you have a problem trying to open the trap door Whistling

Aw chelle you have a sweet guy there not wanting his piggy pouting Hurray!

I have a lot of beneficial bugs around here as long as I’ve been gardening but still seems like every year there is an insect that we have so many of even that the beneficial bugs can’t keep up with them but I let nature take it’s course most of the time I do good trying to keep up with the weeds Grumbling

That’s awful to see your hibiscus foliage stripped Ella :( Loved your story to the PO bet you made those postal worker's day they probably thought you were bonkers but you made their day Rolling on the floor laughing

I think about 18 have been delivered today. Can see abunch will get tomorrow and grrrrrrrrr on a bunch where somebody hsn't scanned them since they left Montgomery, unless they on planes yet waiting to get to next stop. I know some areas planes were being delayed from weather. Hope it not too long.

Me I been just wallowing around in my bed all day curled up with the book I started awhile back and finally got it finished. Tomorrow it time to start on cleaning this pig pen, so if anybody left in the barn yet, ya gonna get put to work. Hilarious!

Waaah! No seeds yet! My tracking number says it's scheduled to be delivered today, but it's obviously been held up in my tiny little post office. I've never lost a package through them, so I think I'm in good shape - just SLOW!

Such fun! Great anticipation! Drooling Drooling

Can you see the smile on my face? I feel like a hybrid of a piggy and Mona Lisa Rolling on the floor laughing

Having a seed party in my pig sty tonight - we're having venison stew, and we'll put out a plate of imaginery pringles in your honor, Star.

Thank you, Star and All, from the bottom of my piggy heart - as risingcreek said, this is the best swap ever.

ps - a skunk once wandered into our havahart cage, too. Just about the most laid-back critter I've ever met. When we opened the door, he didn't seem interested in leaving, but eventually mosied out and seemed ready to stay and socialize, but eventually - very slowly - ambled off. seems like a very, well centered Buddha-like critter Whistling

I am so sorry for the loss of your friend, Sandy. She was lucky to have her friends with her.

The post office site says that my piggy box will arrive Friday. We are expected to get wintery mix that day, so I may not get to play with seeds until the weekend. As long as it arrives eventually, I'll be very happy.

I was afraid that wintersown seeds would sprout during the 50'F days then get frozen when it drops below freezing.

That is a good tip, Joseph, to wait until seedlings are 2" before sowing the next crop.

Peace to you Sandy.

I had a great time last night looking through my seeds. There were a few sweet surprises and it was amazingly satisfying to go through and look at the seeds I had requested-like shopping the catalogs without the high price tag. Thank you Ella, and everyone who participated!

Sandy, I am very sorry for your loss, too Group hug

I think that when Horatio said there are more things in heaven and earth than men have ever dreamed of, I bet he never met a piggy box from Ella. My goodness. I know I oinked for those seeds, but still - what lovely surprises.

Thank you Ella and Fellow Traders

Glad folks are finding some surprises they like. Usually there a bunch of bottom of the trough stuff, but since we had so many newbie s this year just getting started with nothing and no one to ones or just a few, and a few very light piggies, I made them a box, so that they could get started for next year and was more or less even across the board.

Joseph busy right now, but I too think I will follow his advice this year about planting a second row when things are two inches tall.

What I worried about right now is trying to plant peas. Last year was too late and with the roller coaster temps I afraid to start now too. And the temps are just like a huge coaster right now week to week ad the rain. Tons of it. We got it coming again today and for several more days.

Some rain is good, but so much and it beats the seeds down so deep into the ground that when they do emerge they rot and die as they don't have enough energy left to break through the soil, or the soil remains so wet that they spoil.
