We came from here: http://cubits.org/ellasgarden/thread/view/69432/ Still no computer working at home, but good news!!!!!!!!! Alrighty finally a new thread to start the kick off of this years Piggy Swap. ![]() ![]() I have posted up the rules and the sign up list up under the Seed Trading Forum. Rules and Official starting line: http://cubits.org/ellasgarden/thread/view/71788/ The sign up sheet: http://cubits.org/ellasgarden/thread/view/71789/ You may have noticed that this year there is no time when the barn door will be unlocked and open. That is because if I still don't have my computer back by then, the doors will be opened and kicked off by whichever one of my Admin Team gets here first and starts things off. Depending upon who is here first on the 14th, they could open it night, morning, afternoon or evening. You will not know. You'll just have to keep checking to see when it is unlocked. Since it is hard for me to be here right now, The Admin Team is in charge. If they tell you something, it will be just like me speaking, so please be respectful of them and follow their advice and suggestions. A few things have changed from last year, for one price of postage went up to cover this years increase. Second, I felt so bad about what happened with some folks not being who they were, so this year, even Survivors have to pay postage. Economy bad for everybody and hopefully that will lighten the burden a bit off folks and also keep things real. As usual I have probably forgotten some things, and hopefully somebody will catch them. If I have and am not around, check with Tcs and Patti to make any corrections. Ugggggggggggg! I'm watching this timer and it will be out soon, so let me try and get some links posted. Joseph..... Love your market displays. ![]() ![]() |

I hope I got all the links. Patti you may want to double check I have the right ones in the right spots. Darn timer has me so nervous I forgot where I needed what. LOL My oh my, did nobody notice I spelt the word Survivor wrong last year. ![]() I know I am forgetting something important, hopefully I will remember it soon. Oh, now I know! There is no way for me to have enough time to be able to put an announcement in the paper. We need to have it run every week for the next couple of weeks. Does anybody happen to have time? This is what I wrote last year, with last year dates and times, if somebody wants to re-write or write their own article about it and now that we have the official opening and closing dates, somebody please be good enough to post it in the seed trading forum over on ATP with links back to here. I sure would appreciate it. Ok, times up, sniff, sniff. Be back as soon as I can. ![]() |

I sent the newsletter info to Dave. I just noted that the article was about last years swap and gave a link for this years swap. If someone wants to write up a new article I can have Dave change the link. Here is a link to the article Ella wrote last year http://cubits.org/ellasgarden/articles/view/1101/ and a link to what was put in the newsletter last year http://cubits.org/special/news/index.php?showdate=2011-10-31 |

Ella, what is the diagnosis on your computer? |

Hey All! I've been MIA this summer, busy exercising and losing 34 (so far) of my piggy pounds! Lots more to go, but I'm feeling great! Sorry your computer is out Ella. Hope it gets fixed quick! Not sure what I'll have to swap, but I know I have some seeds saved from the beginning of the summer before my focus changed, and I know there are some out in the yard just waiting to be grabbed, so I'm in! Thanks Joseph for the Cmail, or I might have missed you all entirely. Will definitely be around only sporadically, as between regular life stuff and Weight Watchers stuff and the occasional day of actual WORK, my time is pretty crazy! |

Hello, all you hungry little piggies! I just discovered that I should be on this thread, but I must have missed something. The last entry on here was Joseph's on Oct. 27th (5 days ago). I'm going to get cjhound (Jenn) to this thread so that she can get started on her database. (I haven't started mine either.) Fall weather is here and making me drool over next year's seeds! |

Heya! I was scarce for a couple days getting things sorted out here before Sandy arrived, then our internet was out for a couple days (power out for less than 24 hours, though, so all OK). No damage here, and we're feeling very fortunate. Star has been having computer problems, think she said her machine was out for repair. It's fun to look around the garden, remember what bloomed this summer, and find spots that "need" something more. Circles of Support for Breast Cancer I'm learning to dance in the rain! Thank you, Sally & Chris & Sharon. |

oh heavens... i've been such a slug. Did not save any seeds this year.... was a very bad year for plants. Not sure I'll have anything for the swap... but I did see Gaillardia on Dryad's list... So I may go see what i have left. I've been back home about 3 weeks now... and I have zero energy for anything. Did pull some weeds today though. Wow, BitBit, you put me to shame with your neat little packaged and labeled seeds! I'm still out there looking to see what I have to pick from, and we're already threatened with a freeze each night. What I have collected is in its container (with chaff) and a label. My concentration has been on getting the tropicals and tender things indoors or covered. Sunday will be my day to start working on my new database! |

Forgot to say that Kelly is looking really good! Her diet and exercise lifestyle is working for her. I'm proud of her! |

BitBit: You are ahead of me. Here's what my maxima squash landrace looks like today. I think that I won't get it ready for the Hoggy Swap. That's a lot of eating!!!!![]() Author of Mother Earth News Blog about Landrace Gardening: http://www.motherearthnews.com/search.aspx?tags= Lofthouse |

Here for a few. I have fingers and toes crossed that they will get my puter fixed. When the help is free, ya can't push to much, but they know how important this is to me. I have a few neighbors that have internet, so may go around knocking on everybodys doors and seeing if I can use their puters for a bit each day til I get mine back. I have been having major..major withdrawl for sure. This year was rough for alot of folks. Lots of heat, drought and flooding in some areas for folks. Some years folks can collect alot and some years folks can't. Everybody just shares what they have. So don't feel bad if you don't have much. That part of what swap is about, share during bountiful years and ask during lean. I running behind too on my lists. Oh well. I usually am. I got seeds all over the place. Now to just get them in some kind of order. Ya right. LOL not gonna happen this year either. Folks will just have to stumble through my mess as usual. |
