Arlene yep it does but it is an Aster. Have it and Purple Top Aster which is a crazy looking plant when it grows and blooms. One of these nights, about 3 in morning when I sound a sleep it will hit me. Hope I remember or find my paper so I can add to database.

Ella, the Penstemon stalk will have seed pods that are shaped like upside-down teardrops. The seed will be dark brown to black and is usually irregularly shaped (they remind me of really burnt toast crumbs), though some small seeded varieties can appear roundish. Oddly, many species' seed have the faint odor of poo about them, but I know that won't help you.

The Veronica stalk will basically look like a dried flower stalk, because the seed pods are really tiny. The seeds are very tiny (but bigger than Digitalis,) tan to brown and shaped like little ovals.

Regarding the "Aster," I agree with Arlene that it is Stokesia which is informally called "Stoke's Aster."

Hope that helps some! Smiling

I bought a Penstemon 'Prairie Twilight' on clearance at Lowe's but it rotted very quickly in the non-stop rain this summer. Sad

Star - I have the Stoke's aster too. How do you differentiate between the good seeds and not good seeds? Mine's seem to have a lot of seeds, all about the same plumpness. Maybe a good seed is really, really plump???

Everyone, I just found out that I've got to go out of town on Thursday to take care of some business. Therefore, I have to close my list on Tuesday, Dec. 11th at midnight in order to get everything packed and ready to mail on time. I'm so sorry for the short notice.

I am sorry I have been mia for the last few days. I visited my college friend in Maryland and got caught in the bad weather trying to drive home. I gave up and pulled into a mom & pop motel in north MD for the night. There was no internet where I was staying or here and I am posting this on my phone. I will acknowledge the few people who oinked from me this weekend when I get back home tomorrow night. And will attempt to oink from those piggy lists that are still open. I know many troughs are closing soon but I don't need a lot of seeds for my smallish garden. Hard to type one handed; I'm no teenager!

Just reread the first post on this Thread announcing that this is the final week of the swap.......boy, am I behind this year. I will be adding on the rest of my haves to my list sometime this evening. Added some photos of the dianthus "sooty", orlaya grandiflora, yellow columbine and Blazing Sunset Guem to my database in case anyone wants to see what they look like.
