It's cold here, too. We have negative 14 this morning, and a whopping zero today at lunch. We got about 10 inches of snow Tuesday afternoon and night and spent all day yesterday digging out. I made it to work today, but it's not very pretty driving yet.

Once that box of piggy seeds comes in I'll feel much warmer! Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

and the beloved Winston the pug
On groundhog's day, the Pocono Pug looked out the window at the snow, sighed, and stayed in bed. The snow was taller than his legs and he couldn't get to his favorite trees without dragging his tummy in the snow. I am hoping for an early spring, but I am not optimistic. Yesterday, we got 8" more snow with a layer of ice on top. It is difficult to plow and shovel, but Winston is happy because he can walk on top of the snow now.

Thankfully, the power has stayed on except for a few flickers and the phones and internet are working. According to the radio, other areas of PA are having power outages. If the power companies would do a better job trimming the trees near the lines......we know how that goes.

Hurray,
This little piggy has already received her box! Hurray! Hurray!

The mailman parked his mail truck to knock on my door. He just knew this was a special box and wanted to see the expression on my face. The rest of the mail on his route was a little late today because he waited while I opened the box so he could look inside. He was all...ooh, what's that? and ...look at those!! A true gardener. Did I mention that I love Lovey dubby my mailman?

Thank you everyone Group hug for the great seeds; a great big THANKS to Starlight/Ella Thumbs up for all her dedication and hard work.
Now I have to divide them up and send half to Plant Sister.Thumb of 2014-02-06/greene/fe510a

Mine still shows as not left AL yet but I'm betting it has and is on its way if not at home waiting on me. However since its the coldest I think we have been down here since we moved here and we had an inch of snow NOW the truck decides not to start. So we have to wait an extra 30 min after work for a tow truck to tow us home. We suspect she may be frozen as she started fine not 2 hours before. Love the pic Greene! I'm gonna do a video for my YouTube channel as well as pics. Hurray!

..............til a bag of popcorn went all over and into buckets and it one heck of a mess. I cleaned up another mess and finally said that it for night and went of to sleep for a couple hours.

I know some of you are trying to save on the environment, but no more heavy seeds like that in just a thin piece of newspaper. AGGGGGGGGGG. I still got pop corn everywhere. I hope I get it all before hot temps hit. Don't know at what temp it pops but I just hope I remember when I hear what sounds like shots going off during night that it just corn popping in the 110+ heat..... LOL

I just about DIED LAUGHING.....just thinking of when it DOES get to be 110° and you are trying to sleep..... Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Thanks Ella! Hurray!

Misti, mine is also showing as still being in Alabama.
I'm actually surprised that mine didn't arrive today since I'm the closest to Ella, but the delay from last week's "snowpocalypse" may be a factor.

Greene, nice haul!

Anxiously awaiting! Big Grin

Danita. I think you are right. When I checked numbers I found there are several showing still stuck in AL. I drove back to Po again this afternoon and talked to postmaster about it. He took pics of my receipt and all the numbers and has sent an email to the plant manager down there. All the ones in stuck mode were all in the same bag. That bag sitting somewhere at the facility.

Local po didn't know if maybe they just hadn't gotten to that bag or what as with planes finally getting through and the backlog of mail they had that behind a week or more they may have started on it first.

I'll be checking numbers again in the morning. I took a nap and just woke up and actually thought it was 7 tomorrow morning already and had started my breakfast routine when I seen pm on puter. All mixed up now. Hate when that happens. Must have slept so soundl body is refreshed and ready to go. Anyways I'll be checking back at PO tomorrow too.

Sometimes I think they simply miss scanning items that are actually en route. My seeds from Pat's recent swap always appeared to be still at her local sort facility until it was delivered to me.

Ella, don't worry too much about it. It's not been long at all and I'm sure they will get it sorted out soon. ^_^

Alana, I've had that happen to me as well.

Morning all! My package tracking says the same thing, it's still in Alabama. My friend works for UPS. They have had packages backed up since the 'snowcalypse' last week. They had to rent trucks and recruit drivers from other cities to come help deliver all the packages. Some of the packages were important medical supplies. Unfortunately, the bad weather caused packages to be stacked all over the building. They had to bring out people from offices and other areas to help sort and load packages, too. I am sitting on pins and needles waiting on the mailman to bring my box but I can wait until it's safe for everyone to be out on the roads.

Greene I think it's great that you share your seeds with a plant sister. I will plant some seeds for my mother and aunts. And my friend loves having a veggie garden so we will start some peppers, tomatoes, squash and cucumbers from seed this year. My entire back yard could very easily to turned into a garden this year. LoL

Last year I had two knee suregeries. I didn't do much of anything in the garden. This year I will have some serious weeding to do. LoL And I want a Memory Garden for my grandmother, aunt and cousin. I hope to put my seeds to good use. I have already started winter sowing. Yahhhh

I checked this morning and still the same thing. Later after ice melts from sleet rain storm we had for most of last night melts, will be heading to Po to mail of Joseph and yelp at Po again. I wanna know who supposed picked them up at Po and drove to montgomery with them. Hopefully the po man will have heard back from the plant manager.

Normally I am a pretty calm person was hours in po yesterday just waiting in between customers for po man to see what was going on and take pics of recipt and numbers, but I running on a shoestring of nerves and so if see on world news tonight crazy lady went off in Po it probably just me. I'll make sure I wave to ya all if they take me away. Can just see the headlines now. "Bacon loving gardener caught digging through packages like apig for piggies." Rolling on the floor laughing

Packages would have gone from here to montogomery to atlanta airport than on to proper planes. I know atlanta still all backed up. Everything stopped down here with that arctic blast.

It just frustrating as all get out. You all anxious, I anxious. Now some of you may try calling your local PO's and giving them the number. They are better able to track some of the more modern Pos to see if there activity that not showing on website we see. Have done that many a time when package didn't show and found out sometimes it wasn't scanned here but was at another place but it just didn't show up on updates.

LoL @ Ella please don't on my account believe me I can wait. LoL It is frustrating but it's all perfect timing.

Yes, my friend who works for UPS lives in Atlanta. They are working 15 hour days to get the packages out. He said he walked into the building on Monday and it looked like a bomb went off in...packages covering every inch of the building. I imagine it's the same with the PO but worse, probably fewer workers. I bet someone probably failed to scan packages after being moved to next destination.
