I really feel for you all getting hammered by this latest storm. This winter has been so bad, not just for North America but Europe has had it bad as well. I've been watching what's happening on the Eastern Seaboard on CNN and it's remarkable just how much snow they're getting and how quickly.

I've responded to all of the posted lists. The good news is, I'm only out of a very few things from what I offered, so if the plan is to re-send, it's only a matter of pulling those packs and getting them into the mail. Hopefully, it won't come to that, but as Ella has said and I agree with her, it's best to be prepared.
Grazie a tutti,
Julianna

I also have most of my seeds. I have small medicine or spice bottles with seeds from my garden. I have LOTS of 'Star of Yelta' morning glory and yellow marigold seeds. I have those in the shaker bottles from grated Parmesan. I can send extras!

My landlord is visiting Saturday, so I am busy cleaning with frequent breaks to clear snow. It is snowing so hard I can't see the mountains. We are expecting a foot of snow. Thankfully it is snow, not sleet or ice. So far, the snow is fluffy and easy to clear. I trudged thru the snow to the shed to get my electric leaf blower and miles of outdoor cords. I am going to see how it works on snow!

I'll get you a list of seeds I have on hand and start looking up prices from my seeds list after Saturday. I sent 12 survivor seeds packets, but didn't write down what they were. I can put together one of each of my garden seeds as a survivor pack if the seeds aren't found by the post office and we send them again.

Darn, I keep checking the usps website hoping to see progress.

I am so sorry that this happened to you, Ella. You do so much work running the swap, you didn't deserve all of this extra stress. I would estimate the number of hours you spent tracking multiply that by an hourly rate and add that to the claim. They may not award it, but they would be aware of what an inconvenience this is.

The snow has melted, but the internet is still off and on. I've seen crews on the road so I guess they are working on it.
I'm trying to go through and see what I can replace first and then I will start working on values in between outages.
It may be the weekend before I can make much progress.

Spent the last few days snowed in organizing my seeds and my new seed starting shelf.
More than 25 years of seed starting and just this month I finally got a shelf for my equipment, no more lining up grow lights on the floor with books and blocks for support. Now the shelves are hung on adjustable chains -- just like the expensive store-bought sets. But my shelf was "free" from Costco, $30, used by Costco refund check that I get in February.
And my lights I've had forever. Time for new bulbs this year.
Now I have to stop staring at my seed flats looking for germination, it's only been a little over 24 hours!

Glad you got you a nice set up Judy.... LOL It is hard waiting on the first babies to pop. You never know when they are going to do it. Usually about the time you get busy and your back is turned than they will say " Hey I'm here! Lookey at me! Hurray! " Hilarious!

Andi... I done typed everybody's numbers so many times for so many places and also several times a day in tracking myself looking and hoping that I have just about got ya all memorized as a number instead of a name. Hilarious!

Still need Bluespiral and JuliesAcre to go and post their name on the Miscellaneous Thread so that their missing list can be done.

Poison... Becareful with being on net and the power outages. You don't want to blow a modem for sure. Heard on news quick this morning how bad it was in so many places and how so many folks without electricity. Hope yours stays on.

I've got cat grass, micro-greens, and onions coming up! Along with the others I posted a few days ago, I sowed Tuink's Hulk Aster. It's a new flower for me, so I'm hoping it works!
Grazie a tutti,

That great jhgarden!! Kales not only look pretty, but healthy eating too. I learned along time ago to start corn seed in trays first and than plant out. If the moles and voles dont get them than birds and other critters will snatch them seeds up as fast as you are planting them.

Soaking your corns? That something new to me. What ya soaking them in and for how long?

You did it right JHgarden, now have your thread of listed seed.

Still need the following to make a post here : http://cubits.org/ellasgarden/thread/view/78159/

Please get your post as soon as possible, because there a lot of seed to look up and when it comes time to start all the claims, which I hope doesn't have to happen, I want everybody going at once and not having to try and piece meal ya on the tail end.

Please, I know it disheartening to keep checking the site for activity. I do several times a day myself, but as soon as anybody sees anything, please come and post here for everybody so we all can start maybe breathing again and smiling on the inside instead of just outside.

Thanks for mentioning that you plant your corn inside first. What about peas? They have been hit and miss for me. My grandmother planted peas on her birthday in mid March and got peas. I do the same, sometimes I get peas, sometimes nothing. I had troubles with moles and voles, maybe they ate the peas.

That is such incredibly great news - with snow/sleet deep enough out back for an igloo to move into, well this does take an edge off a cooped-up day. Thanks for the alert, y'all - and yup my box has moved to Florida too Big Grin
