Honestly, the delay wasn't a problem for me either. I'm just so happy the packages were found! However, I do think it's sort of funny that although the snail-mail wasn't quite as slow as a snail, it was turtle speed.
Stay safe, Alana! That line of storms is heading my way in a few hours. Thankfully, my county is barely out of the tornado-watch zone. They are still worried about winds and lightening though. I hope all the piggies stay safe!
Thanks again for all the great seeds & Ella for hosting!
As for me, the delay wasn't a problem for me either. As a newbie, I didn't know what to expect, nor when to expected it. I received tons of seeds and am very grateful. Ella, you took a hard job for running this swap. Thank you!
Even though we're in the warmer area, and could have started planting outside already, but I still have not finished my yard cleaning, yet. It's a super lazy piggy here.
It was so hot yesterday. It was 68F, but feels like in the mid 70s. Night time still very cold, though. Saw the frost early this morning.

Oh my gosh yall.... I am SO SO SORRY. Please don't hold going A wall this round against me. I certainly didn't mean to. Things with memory have been a bit haywire here n there since the accident. But I am doing ok.... just didn't mean to forget about all this.
If there are seeds that I owe any of you PLEASE Please let me know so I can get them out. I feel awful for this.
Wonderful to hear from you Sass!! We're just glad you are doing okay! Ella is off line right now because of the bad weather in her area but she will be SOOO Happy that you checked in!! Please send Ella (starlight1153) your mailing address, she has a big pile of seeds she wants to send to you.
That's great, Danita. I hope Ella is okay, too.
The storms caused flooding here, and power was out for about a thousand people yesterday. I was not one of them, but I got to stay home and sow seeds.

Sorry to hear about the accident sassafras, glad that you are on the mend.
Hope everyone is weathering the storms. Just a bit of rain, fog and slush here. We still have snow left, but it melted enough to clear the walkways. winston the pug has a terrible case of spring fever. he can keep me company winter/early spring sowing some more seeds!
I am still digging in my trough! So many wonderful seeds and exciting surprises! Fun times!
So glad everyone is safe. So far, California has been the driest fall and winter in history, so finally a bit of rain has arrived. There is no telling if it will be enough. We understand that the feds will not be releasing any water to us, so if your fruits and veggies have higher prices...this is why.
At least some of us will be able to grow our own. We have a good, deep well, but most are not that fortunate. Still, we do not waste water on lawns or anything like that. We just mow the weeds until they dry out in late spring-early summer.
The veggies have to be grown in a fenced area. I have learned that the hard way, as the deer here are voracious. Also the moles, voles and gophers. I have 9 "Square Foot Gardens", which are mainly filled with veggies during spring and summer, but I usually reserve at least one bed for flowers. I love them so. I appreciate the fact that I am retired now and have the time to devote to gardening...and growing plants from seed. I also appreciate all of you here, as where else could we find so many friends that like to grow plants from seed in our community?
I went to a few "Foothill Garden Club" meetings in my area. Many members don't even have a garden. Even fewer of them ever start anything from seed. they go to socialize. Oh yeah, and have a few charity events. Does anyone here have a REAL garden club? (Well besides Cubits, DG, GW and ATP?) I mean in your area.???

I heard that there was a garden group and a quilting group at the local library. I searched their site to find out their calendar, but couldn't find it. Arghh.
We have an organic garden club we joined with real gardeners, some, like us, are market gardeneres too. It is a very informative and fun time, once a month. They do garden tours too.
Glad to see piggies checking in from the storm. Was offline with the storms. Boy I never heard so much thunder or saw so much lightening in a long long time. I just kept praying , please don't hit my trailer again, please, don't hti my trailer again. I still got half a trailer with no electricity from last time I got hit.
News is coming on in a few minutes and than I ca watch world news to see how ya all doing. I imagine a bunch of you are flooding big time.
SASSAFRASS>>>>>>> I glad ya checked in sweetie, and glad ya sent me a cmail. All I need from you is your name and mailing address.
[b]Please who ever found Sass before, can ya maybe try and find her again. I still got no real aname and addy.
Starlight/Ella, I really want to thank you for the heads-up about the bad weather. We seem to get your weather about 24 hours later, so I was better prepared. I got all the windows closed and most of the stuff in the yard battened down.
The dogs started backing at 'nothing' about 20 minutes before I was able to hear the thunder. We shut everything off and hunkered down 'til it passed by. The rain was falling sideways!
My flimsy little zippy greenhouse blew over, but it was almost dead already.
You are more accurate than our local weather people!
Tcs... Anita/Diamobd919 and Chelle... Please check in as soon as you can. Just watched world news and seen all the tornadoes that hit Indiana and you three piggies are from there.

Well shoot... lol I'm still a tad bit scatterbrained.
Thanks everyone for everything. I sure hope that this next year or 2 even will prove to be awesome. This spring may be a little tough yet. I found out on Monday that my leg is still broken, and I have to go through more surgery... which to me is crazy, this all started back in Oct. Good news is all 5 kiddo's are healed up 100% so if there had to be someone still gimping around I'm glad it's me.
I'm sending prayers out for those who need it with this crazy weather the way it's been. Spring has to be out there somewhere doesn't it?
It's about time for me to chime in, I read this thread every morning around 5:30 when I first get up. So my day starts with me sipping coffee snuggled in bed reading about you all on my iPad. Like I'm doing right now. Didn't realize there were violent storms this week, glad to hear piggies are okay. We were joking here in SC that February was Apocalypse due to days of snow and an earthquake, both are very unusual here. Those snow days when most of the state set down were my sowing days and now the seeds are mostly up except for the rudbeckia.....was I supposed to cold treat? It's been just about two weeks, so frustrating because Im usually quite good at seed starting, using domes, heat mats and kind words. But those brown eyed Susans aren't having any of it. And oh yes I did winter sow some, nothing there yet but I wouldn't expect it for a couple more weeks as the outdoor temps get warmer. So just wanted you all to know that even tho I'm crazy busy with my insurance business and family, I am a faithful piggy stealing time to be with you and raise my seeds even if I post infrequently.
We're good here; in fact, yesterday was the first day in longer than I want to think about that we got out to do something other than just working to stave off property damage or injury due to weather issues.
We did have some high winds and quite a bit of rain, but we were able to chop away enough ice and frozen ground to direct the runoff away from the houses...thank goodness! This is one time that I'm grateful that it'll be very cold and drier this week -too much more rain and snow melt all at once would be a huge problem here. Today, our eight feet tall snow piles are down to about 5 feet, but I can see a bit of old dead grass showing at the base of a tree in our yard...whoopee!
Sass,
It's good to hear from you. Hope your healing will be able to progress faster now that the worries about your family's injuries are over.
