Im looking for some Wooly Thyme seeds....they aren't for me they are for a friend ![]() ![]() |

I need a dry towel and a hair dryer and a way to get all my plants in the clothes dryer to dry out. Not sure how long I will be on as electric still sketchy here. Been a wild couple of days, but I am Blessed for sure. I did a whole lot of praying while I was hiding in my safe spot. Grabbed my little bag with important papers, several quilts a candle and hid in the closet for hours. Too much rushing water up in the gully and colvert I usually go to when I know the tornadoes on the way. Van been broke since friday with no and I mean no breaks so couldn't leave here anyways, just rode it out. I do know one thing, first chance I get I gotta get in there and get that closet dusted and vacuumed. Two of the tornadoes that hit AL. hit just on towns on either side of me. I have several friends that have lost their homes. Once things get settled down, I'll go round to see what I can do to help with the clean up. Thankfully everybody is alive. I was lucky have a bunch of limbs and a few more trees down, thank goodness they wasn't these monster Oaks and Hickories. We got a break yesterday afternoon for a few hours and it was scrambled time to see what immediately needed cleaned up and check on other friends. After that I spent time gathering up my pepper babies. Even with all the protection I tried to give them the storms ripped them out of there pots and laid them all down and bent in weird shapes. Than late yesterday afternoon the winds and the rains came back again. Repeat of Tuesday except thank goodness no tornadoes. Just more wind damage. I look at the destruction around so close to home and know I am very lucky. Arlene, Greene and Danita please check in as soon as you can, I know the storm and the tornadoes headed up over to your areas. Still alot of folks in Al and Ga all without power. Just hope you guys safe and don't have any destruction. Hermentia.... You too if ya following along, please check in. I know you down around the Tupelo area that got slammed. If I don't hear from ya soon, will be tracking ya down like when Katrina and them came through to make sure ya ok. Think I still got your number somewhere. Rising.... Me!!!!!!!!! Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want seeds. Oh ya. Slobbering just thinking about more seeds. And after everybody gets all done anything else ya don't want, I will be a hog and take. I'll list for swap anything I don't want incase by then we have some new folks or folks that would like some. Joseph... Your gh is looking real good. Hope ya got it braced good down in the ground. When the sun gets too blistering hot if ya have babies in there If ya can't find any cheap shade cloth, material that looks like cheesecloth works good too. Cheap too. Wild.... and the few others I gonna dig plants for, I haven't forgotten ya. Just can't get up in those areas to dig. Nasty winter and we have had nothing but rain and more rain. Worst winter ever and now worst spring ever. I am so sick of rain and being flooded. I hardly have anything sowed because of it. Got 4 " of rain Tuesday and dumped water and went back out and buckets all full again. Plants are rotting even those in pots cuz they so water logged. Ok, gonna head out in a few and see what needs to be fixed and saved. Hopefully rain is over for the day now. We'll see. Be safe those in the storm area now. ![]() |

Starlight/Ella and everyone else in the path of the storms, From half way around the world Plant Sister saw on the news about the bad storms in the USA and sends a message to say she hopes everyone is safe ![]() After the first rain came though Savannah I quickly ran outside to walk the American bulldog, just planning to make one quick lap of the neighborhood as she's gonna be stuck in the house. Well, we got to the 'point of no return' on our walk and the sky broke open. Both me and the dog were soaked to the skin in less than 10 seconds; then she kept looking back at me to see if I had lost my mind as she pulled as fast as she could run to get to the safety of the house. It took 2 towels to dry her off she was so wet. Guess we will stay inside' til this all passes over and won't walk any farther than the back yard. |

So glad, Ella, to hear that you are safe, though soaked. Maybe your poor peppers will hang on and try again. I hope the forecast is right and you have some warm sunny days coming up soon. |

I was out back in my flower beds, marking which plants i need to dig.... I'm assuming this one is a weed, because it's everywhere. One time I had a huge clump and pulled it up, then found a tag for Joe Pye Weed... so I thought it was that... But, this one is popping up all over. anyone ID this... ? ![]() This one I do believe it's a perennial, but for the life of me, I can't remember. it's grown into a Huskers Red. I plan to dig it up in one big clump. ![]() Terese -- Leesburg, FL & Lake Delton, Wi My Email is my userID at hotmail.com |

All is well here, Ella. We had all the warnings and watches but I guess the storms started to fall apart before they made it here. Thankfully, we just got lots of rain and some wind. Glad that you are okay and I hope your pepper babies recover! ![]() Hope everyone else is safe and sound, too! |

Greene... Glad to see you check in and tell Plant Sis thanks for her concern. Patrob... Ya that what they saying. Looks like we gonna go from 60's and 70 for a couple of days straight to almost 90. Than we'll be wishing for rain again. Only good thing about this weather is it makes for a cool day and soft ground for pulling weeds. Danita.... Glad you ok too. I'm really worried about Arlene cuz that storm and tornadoes left my area and headed straight into hers and they had it bad in her area. Tcs... Is the top pic possibly a mint? It also looks like that one pernnial that later in the season makes yellow daisy like flowers. The bottom pic looks like either a Dianthus or that one perennial seed think it was soils that had it. Can't think of name for nothing. It had pink flowers on it. |

Ella, I'm good! We lost power and had tree limbs as well as a couple of trees down between here and my son's but we're fine. So sorry about your peppers. Hope they revive! We got some rain but not nearly as much as I thought we would. It seems the storms went around up for the most part. |
|
|||
So glad you're ok, Ella! We've been seeing so much flooding and sadness on the news. Will pray for your pepper babies!![]() Grazie a tutti, Julianna |

Glad to see everyone made it okay thru the storms. Ella, please put me at the bottom of your things to do list. You have much more important things to worry about right now. Rising, I'm sure I will not be able to resist your awesome list of seeds and will be sending you postage! oink! ![]() Shine Your Light |

tcs1366 When you said the (first) plant pictured was popping up all over I thought of the Hardy Ageratum aka Blue Mistflower aka Conoclinium coelestinum. Looks similar. |

Did anyone have the Wooly thyme seeds? ![]() |

greene -- I have Blue Mist Flower in another flower bed.... these leaves are much bigger, but smaller than mint, like ella mentioned. I had googled Joe Pye after I posted, and there are some foliage that looks just like this.... and since I am gone all season, i never see it bloom. Sorry I neglected to comment on posts... I've just been swamped, with no time to post. Margaret... I'm so sorry for your loss. I can not imagine. I only have 1 sister, and I know it will be difficult losing her. Everyone in the path of Mother Nature.... I'll keep you in my thoughts. while we have had gloomy, cloudy, rainy, breezy days... it's been nothing to what other parts of this nation have endured. Tomorrow at 5pm is my son's rehearsal, then dinner. Friday is the wedding... Saturday I will be digging plants and Sunday back to Wisconsin.... needless to say... my head has been spinning. OK... so I'm flipping thru the Bluestone Perennials catalog that came the other day.... and I was looking at the beautiful Agastaches they have, and think of how happy the hummingbirds will be.... then i looked at their prices... holy cow, 10bucks [or more] for 1 plant!! I'm hoping some of you great folks will have some and collect seeds. all are appreciated, but I think i'll be looking for "cana" "firebird" and "tango" I've purchased seeds from that Butterfly site... can't recall the name right now... bought 10 packs only to have 1 germinate, and it never bloomed, then died over the winter. Think that was Raspberry Daiquiri. Terese -- Leesburg, FL & Lake Delton, Wi My Email is my userID at hotmail.com |

Bluestone has Friday's 50 sales every Friday. They put 50 things on sale. My daughter and I went there when I visited Mi about a month ago. Much cheaper there so we get more bang for our buck. Swallowtail has seeds of some. i grew Tango, Bolero and Raspberry Daiquiri from seed last year. Not sure if any made it through the winter though. I got champagne and firebird from bluestone but the seeds won't come true. My daughter saved seeds from orange flame and i got over 20 growing so it will be interesting to see what colors they are. I can try to save seeds from the ones I have. I do have canna too. And raspberry Summer and heatwave. Again, hybrids. I love agastache, can you tell? ![]() |
