Hey, have you checked the refrigerator for those pepper seeds? I found strawberry seeds hiding in my fridge a whole year later! (They got stuffed in with some salvia seed packs in the butter keeper)

BlueSpiral Start doing the happy dance. You been blessed. The last place in Va, made the changes and got the right zip code. The package is now sitting in your local Po waiting for the help to come in and scan and than send out for delivery. You should be receiving your package today. So do a little piggy jig. A special thanks to the worker who did it and didn't just keep sending it all around or back to me.

Alrighty, that should be all the piggies now having their packages except for the long haulers and hopefully in the next week or so they will have their too.

So before ya all take off in different directions getting busy sowing seed, I want to thank you for the seed you shared with me and with all the other piggies.

Ya all really impressed me this year with the fact that we had even more different personalities from all over than ever before and a lot of special piggies and everybody came together beautifully. I was impressed by the respectfulness of everybody. Such good piggies. I tip my hat to you. I tip my hat to you.

Sorellina... Mentioning the long haulers, I decided to look them all up and make sure everybody on their way. I put in your number and it is showing not found. I will be calling the postmistress mater on Monday to find out what the deal is. It may be that the trainee didn't scan it, but it should have been scanned in Montogomery. Just wanted you to know.

The other long haulers are flying.

I am living vicariously thru the other piggies this weekend.

My piggy seeds aren't here, yet. However, the post office site says they were delivered. I figured out why. The main post office is resolving the problem with the local post office. They have a single complacent employee who doesn't bother to follow postal procedures. I have been dealing with a federal customer service rep and the postal police. The problem is the local postmaster and the local mailboxes. One way or the other this has to be solved. In addition to the piggy box, I have 6 work related boxes also "delivered" but not here. Another neighbor who sells things on ebay had similar problems. She pays for a P.O. Box at a different post office.

My mail order prescriptions arrived. They fit in my little mailbox. If they were missing in action, I could call the police. I am glad that my medicine is here, but I would have enjoyed pressing charges and testifying in court against the postmaster for postal fraud. (Loss of controlled substances is handled by the police.)

One bright note, the local postmaster was super rude to me again on the phone, which I caught on tape. This is the fourth time she insulted me on the phone, the third time on tape. I hope her nasty attitude and potty mouth get her lazy self fired! If she worked for anyone but a pseudo government agency, she would already be unemployed. This time, the taped conversations and documented problems got sent to the Americans with Disabilities office, State Senators, Federal Senators and Representatives and local newspapers in addition to the federal postmaster. Next time, they hit the New York Times, The Washington Post, and YouTube.

She accused me of being a degenerate with alcohol and drug problems since I don't drive. She told me to "get a real job". (I suppose she meant one like the 6 figure corporate job I had before I was injured in a near fatal auto accident). Most importantly, she is jeopardizing my current livelihood. Customer Service at its best!

I work with magazine editors, designers and yarn companies who don't believe that things like this happen in this day and age! I wouldn't believe it if I weren't experiencing it first hand. In NYC, mail gets delivered, but it gets stolen from the mailboxes or from in front of your door. I am trying to explain that I can't make a sample swatch for a design because the yarn hasn't arrived, yet. The tracking number says it was delivered yesterday. Well, here in the Poconos, there are illiterate high school graduates and people who never touched a computer stubbornly resisting the modern age. I have to fight or move. I am tired of moving, so they are in for quite a fight!

My cousin and I were joking about reverse immigrating to Norway. Maybe I should seriously consider it.

I am also circulating a petition in the neighborhood to get the post office to install a large drop off box and additional locked pick up boxes by the group mailbox.

I will stop ranting and take my hostilities out on the snow. I have to be certain the mailman can't claim that my driveway isn't cleared. I haven't measured it, but the snow is deeper than my boots. I have to wake up Winston the pug. He is hiding under the comforter trying to hibernate. The snow is deeper than his little legs. He is not going to be a happy camper.

Andi, what a mess! kudos to you for fighting... it doesn't sound like the sort of thing that will get better with time, only worse, unless people take action.

It shows the damage one incompetent bureaucrat can cause.

I have to fix the problem or move again.

I need a reliable internet connection, reliable phone and mail service to make a living.

Can't help but wonder if the Pocono Mountains postmaster is related to the one in Seale, AL that allows a delivery person to deliver a truckload of packages from the open bed of a pick-up truck in the pouring rain just before Christmas.

It's a real shame when a little authority makes someone feel so self-important they don't fear for being incompetent, even worse when they continually get away with it.

Andi, good luck with your fight. We're all pulling for you!

Edited to apologize for being so terse. Y'all sent me a wonderful envelope of seeds, and I very much appreciate Ella's and everyone's generosity and hard work.

Critter, modern cataract surgery makes pain and anxiety nothing. No one has to fear going through this any more. Recovery is going well.

Wishing everyone much success with growing out their seeds and thanking you all for making this swap so much fun.

Hi Critter, I rewrote the post preceding yours. Things are moving along okay. Thank goodness for Jonna's vermiculite seed-starting technique, since my post-op restrictions make germinating techniques involving potting soil harder.

Y'all enjoy the coming snow days.
