ATTENTION ALL PIGGIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IMPORTANT!!! PLEASE READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a few more hours til tomorrow and the Po will be open and your packages will start winging their way to you.

But before they get to you, let me me explain and go over a few things as I running a low grade fever again and want to get this said while I still can.

As you've read. I've been sick this entire swap and at one point I almost was ready to cancel it, cuz I could barely hang head over computer, but some folks this their only swap of the year and I wasn't going to disappoint them.

As I said in rules, and I serious about this, if you have a question about seed received or missing from folks, you are too cmail ME , not them. If I find out and I always do at some point find out somebody was hassled about a missing seed or anything, your outta here. Things happen and we have had a lot of sick and injured or special piggies and everybody has done the best they can. It's only seed and not like you don't have any in your package. Your welcome to cmail me about anything. I won't pin ears or tails to doors. Whistling Hilarious! Usually I pretty much have all the piggy packages memorized and know what going on or will find out.

So saying that, I have myself a few seeds missing. When I find them, I'll send them on. When I was at my sickest I was stuffing seed into envelopes from me and when I went back and checked I discovered I had put label but no seed. I hope I have found them all and now have the seed with the labels and everything went topsy turvy when I had to spread out hundreds of seed from all them soggy boxes and packages.

I hope I have gotten all the changes and switches and stuff people asked for. If not, I apologize now. I tried the best I could.

One last thing and it the most important of all. I do not like what I am going to say, but I have too.

While you getting all excited thinking about and waiting for those seeds to arrive, you need to seriously think about this. I mentioned this last year several times and a few of you folks just seemed totally ignore what I said. You need to heed this post. This not for newbies. You new , your exempt.

The piggy swap has been going on for all these years and everybody likes to have a good time and get new seed. Having to have a required amount of seed listed has not been required. Some of you have been in this swap for 3-4 and more years and every year you have come with the same or just about same haves list. You barely even have any seed listed yet over the course of the years you have oinked and received between 700 and almost 1,000 packets of seed depending on years you have been participating.

Now I realize when you first came and got your first several hundreds of packets that some seed would not be flowering for harvest for two years if a perennial or biennial. That was expected, but it now years later and your listing even less than you first had and of a worse quality .

Most the folks in this swap spend many hours and work like crazy to grow and harvest and bring pretty things for you too oink. They harvest and also spend money buying new and exciting seed to this swap. They are not spending the hours, time , money on water, ferts and anything else needed to bring these seed to you. I don't know if you just storing the seed in a corner and looking at it look pretty, feeding it to the dogs as kibble bit. Whatever you are doing , you need to stop it.

We all here are seedaholics. We love seed . We love getting new seed and having a chance to grow something special, but some of you need to quit being just seedaholics and become plantaholics. I don't expect anybody to plant evrything they have. Sometimes ti may be a couple of years before folks can get to all what they want, but a few of you are not even planting the first seeds.

So this is your last warning. I suggest you take alot of the seed you get and get busy getting it planted and harvested. This has nothing to do with liking you or not. We like everybody here and worry about each piggy, but for some of you, your days of coming and bringing a few junky seeds and getting hundreds of new seed is over. The days of abusing the hard working piggies is over. I'm sorry, but as much as I like you and the other piggies do too, fair is fair and unless you have had a natural disaster, not personal crisis, I am afraid you are not going to be allowed to just sign up next year until your haves lists are approved . Putting up a whole bunch of extra seeds that you got that don't want is not going to work. You will have to have grown the seed and more than one few seeded packet or go out during the year and buy good quality seed, not the ten cent packages either. You have officially been put on notice. I'm not going to mention names, cuz you know who I am talking about. My cmail open if you need to discuss this and know whether you in the probation category or not.

Get busy planting is all I can suggest. Enough said on that subject.

Last thing..... Some of you had one to one seed you sent that wil be coming back to you and your one to one seed total was decreased by that number. I am sorry, but I am not going to accept seed such as un-named grass seed or seed that is ten-11 and even older and give you brand new seed for it. That not fair to the piggy who grew or purchased that new seed to expect them to accept your cruddy seed in return. If you were planning on doing that, you should have listed it in your database with year and let piggies decide if they wanted to try it or not and kept the rest for yourself and planted it.

Ok, I think I can get off the soapbox. I'll cmail folks sometime tomorrow evening with your tracking numbers. This is your last chance for anybody who needs me to hold seeds for a bit. Holler now or be ready to catch your package.

Oh!!!!! Oh!!!!!!!!!!! Before I forget! All you piggies that have a package of seed coming from Tuink. Yes, what is also enclosed is a goody and is edible. Thumbs up

All done... Get that potting soil ready. You gonna need it. I hope the weather is good for all of us this year to grow our pretties. Remember the Cottage Garden Forum is open all year long and usually somebody around if you need help trying to figure otu how to sow some seed or best ways to germinate or where to plant.

Happy 2015 Gardening Piggies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up

Weeeeeeeee!!! Seeds flying soon!!

I went shopping today and was trying to find clear (see thru) plastic containers, I know I've seen them so many times but I sure couldn't find them today!! Darn the luck!

Sow... I got one big container that I can put many six pack seed containers. I'm going to try using vermiculite. I think I'll start with some perennials and tomatoes and wintersow but wondering if I should wait til Feb. like I usually do because it is warm out! Almost 70F today but I just know we will be getting some freezing next month. Farmer's Almanac says probably snow too.

Happy sowing everyone!!! Hurray! Hurray!

Edit to say OOPS! Should have posted on chit chat thread. Sorry.

Hurray! so excited now. Elladont forget the stoff in the fridge and or freezer and remember Mindy's box needs surprise Lilly's added.

Hope I'm not on the bad piggy list. I do sow my seeds but don't always manage to keep stuff alive. I'm learning though and hoping some flowers bloom for me from last year's sowing this year.
Does anyone have suggestions for keeping my beloved spouse from eating all the tomatoes before I get seeds? Short of hitting him upside the head that is.

My spouse LOVES tomatoes too. Bag at least one tomato that you are going to save seeds from and tell him he is not allowed... that doesn't always work but he will at least be reminded seeing that bag! Hilarious! Then when you pick the tomato, hide it from him! Hilarious!

Mindy Thanks for the reminder. Got the stuff from frisge, but so glad ya mentioned the lilies cuz I have my list and had forgotten I told ya I would add ya some. Good girl.!!!!!! Thanks.

LOL.. Do like one piggy does. Her hubby gets all the tomatoes he wants, but he gets em with out the seeds. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Poor guy. But great for piggies . Thumbs up

I don't expect everybody to sow every seed. It impossible, even for me and I am a sprouter. I know folks will kill stuff learning. I do too. I working on year is it 4, 5 or 6 now to grow Tithonia for the butterflies. This the first year I didn't oink for some cuz I still have some and I still killing the poor plants. Maybe one day I will be succesful again.

Shoot I love eye candy too and oink for it, try a few seeds and find out the seed which really needed cool zones has fried in our 118F and 100% humidity. So than I bring that back to see if somebody else wants.

I don't expect folks to come to swap with a haves list 6 miles long. I know who learning to try and save, I can tell in an instant especially when they have saved the chaff and thrown out the seed. Hilarious! , but I can see they trying and that is fine.

I just tired of a select few year after year not showing respect to other piggies. It not right.

PIGGGGGGGGGGGGies! *Blush* *Blush* *Blush*

On a couple of really bad days I was packing up peppers. I had like 8 almost full packs loaded with pepper seed. I remember starting making packs and had a couple of other types of seed. Well, those that were that year, remember when I lost my good ink pen in somebody's box? This year I think, I may have tossed all my pepper seed stock packages into somebody bucket. Whistling Whistling Blinking Blinking So if you happen to find a whole pile of peppers, would ya let me know, return them and I'll be glad to send postage. I would appreciate it. I not gonna rip packages back open to check em all. *Blush* *Blush*

For those getting the lilies, if you in winter area with snow and such. I would recommend just take lily out and put in brown paper lunch bag and keep in dry cool place til you can work the ground.

For those in warm areas , I would recommend putting in a pot and keeping from freezing if ya can and don't freak if you do and the top leaves are there one day and gone the next. That what they do.

They have foliage to make energy to store in bulb to make flower later.

For all folks. Do not mess with outsides of the bulbs. Leave the dark skin and litle bit of dirt on. If you do anything just trim roots a little bit or plant , it just more food for plant.
