Wow! Where has the time gone? Can't believe it nearing end of June already. Hope everybody is doing ok and their gardens too. Sorry, I haven't been around much. Just so much drama going on with weather here and still tossing everything out of trailer from flooding inside. What a nightmare. Star getting one thing fixed or cleaned up and darn if something else goes haywire. Oh well, that life I guess, gotta take the good with the bad. Normally we are begging for rain about now and in a severe drought. Not this year. If I had the time, I'd probably build an ark. If it not the rain, it the snakes, tics and other bugs that will drive you insane. With all the fires and storms that been happening across the country sure hope all our piggies and friends doing ok this year. Unless something drastic happens, Piggy Swap 2017 will still go on. Cubits and Foxfire giving me fits, which is why I haven't put database for wish lists up yet. I'll probably go to friends house and do it there when their computer is free. Anybody got anything they loving about this year so far? I finally got the giant and I mean giant pot ghetto out of middle of yard and organized. Only took what 4 or 5 years. ![]() ![]() ![]() Once I got that cleaned up, friends down the road brought wood from a torn down fence and built me a small 2 foot high little I call it ponderosa or fairy garden with a small archway in and put some of them night solar lights on it. Only few plants in it at the moment. Two of my favorites from Piggies. Ruella Rajin Cajun and Salvia Coconut Ice. The few hummers I have have been loving that Salvia Cherry Queen. Plants finally big enough for them to feed on. I was going to show you all some pics, but I been 15 minutes here and can't get cubits to upload pic as usual and it was downsized, even double checked. grrrrrrrrr I know my dial up slow, but this is unreal. What's going good or bad or hanging in their in your gardens? |

![]() Hope everyone else is well. Looking forward to wallow in the mud again and do other piggy things. It's been too long! ![]() FAITH over fear! |

Looks like I peeked in at just the right time. I'm looking forward to pushing my snout into the trough, Ella. I'm glad you checked in. |

I'll make a bigger effort to save some seeds! Looking forward to it. Lots of challenges here too with the wet weather but it's cooler. Tomatoes won't amount to much, too wet. But we're getting enough to eat fresh. Ella, I'd still like to come down and see you or meet somewhere. Looks like we'll be watching my granddaughter two days a week but other than that, my days are mine! |

To Ella & fellow gardeners, I hope everyone is enjoying summer's bounty and butterflies. I deleted this post because talking stopped, and I hope I did not offend anyone. I won't be trading seeds in foreseeable future, but will stay in touch. To all who shared their seeds with me, as well as their lives and hopes and dreams - A Big Heartfelt Thankyou:) Karen My religion is simple. My religion is kindness. Dalai Lama |

Sorry I have not checked this site in quite a while. We live in the center of Texas, at least 200 miles north of where the hurricane stopped and received only moderate NE wind for a few days and almost no rain. I watched the rain bands on the radar come about 50 miles south of us and loop on around. Normally a tropical storm that comes in where Harvey did brings us good rain and does little harm along the coast because it moves quickly. This time a front stalled out about where we are and kept Harvey in the same flooded areas for days. People along the coast really took a hit. There are several organizations in my little town collecting and hauling supplies. The organizers are working with churches in the hard-hit areas. They post on Facebook a list of what's requested by the churches. People are bringing in those supplies or donating money to buy them. Several trailer loads are going south every day. They plan to continue as long as there's a need and people keep donating. Now we have folks in Florida needing big help. Ella, it looks like Hurricane Irma is headed right at you. I hope and pray you are in a safe place. When you can, let us know how you are. Is everyone else in those areas okay? Arlene, Greene, Danita? I know we have others in the areas, but I don't know where everyone lives. |
|

We are getting some wind and hopefully some rain tomorrow but I don't think it will be real bad. Should slow down quite a bit by the time it reaches us. At least I hope. |
|
|||
I hope you receive only good rain and nothing serious. All of you in the path of this storm are in my prayers. |

Hi, I hope everyone is and stays safe! ![]() The worst of the storm should start here soon. They were predicting possible tornadoes, earlier, but it looks like Irma degraded faster than they anticipated. Now, they say that tornadoes are still possible but unlikely. ![]() Greene checked in an hour ago on NGA, https://garden.org/thread/view_post/1545620/ The eye of the storm is heading for Columbus, GA which is just east of Ella. Stay safe, Ella! ![]() |

Thankfully, it was fairly non-eventful here. Just rain and wind. Due to a malfunctioning gutter, there was some flooding in the basement but nothing tragic, just annoying. I hope that everyone is well! ![]() |

Glad I dropped by to see a new thread. Hope everyone had a good Christmas and spring will be coming soon. |

It must be because it's spring. I was thinking of Ella a couple of days ago. I hope she's okay. |

Morning Everybody! Boy it been a long time, but seems like just the other day I was here. First I hope everybody is well and safe. I thought about some of you as I watched storms move across your areas with flooding and mud slides. Second, so sorry about not having a piggy swap this past year. Sometimes life throws a bunch of lemons your way and no matter how much lemonade you make the lemons seems to just keep multiplying. Let's see, just a few things that have kept me busy. Spent 4 months fighting two different strains of flu and then bronchial pneumonia for weeks and weeks on end. It all about did me in. Biggest thing was my father needed special care and help and eventually the flu took its toll on him and he passed on. I'm still trying to get my home back in shape from where it flooded out. What a nightmare and I still working on it. Still got lots to go. And the list could go on and on, but you get the drift. I'm on a friend's computer. Mine isn't working right at all. Think it got too much moisture in it from the flooding and just haven't had time to get it repaired yet. I'll get there eventually. Crossing fingers and toes. Things been in such and uphill challenge, first time in a long time I haven't even planted the first seed. Just too many more important things to take care of. I hope you all have some plants and flowers blooming this year. I hope you all have happy gardens that make you smile this year. If you have some pics would be nice to see them if you feel like sharing. I do think about ya all, all the time and keep ya all in thoughts and prayers. Hopefully things will settle down soon and I'll be able to be back here fulltime. Will hopefully chat with you soon again, till then HUGS EVERYBODY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
