This swap is a bit different than some swaps as it has three parts. Those parts are :

1. General Main Swap - Where you ask for up to 100 or possible 100+ seed packets.

2. Piggy Trough - This is the one to one section. You get back one packet from the 1-1 seeds sent in for every 1-1 you send in.

3. Bottom of the Barrel - Extras that folks send in that are shared.

Joining in Parts 2 & 3 are optional. Some folks just like or want only to join Part 1 and that is fine.

This is the general swap of “Oinked” seeds you ask for from folks. This part is for all participants Regulars, Newbies, and Survivors. You go down through everybody’s list. When you see something you would like, you come back here and post on the forum to that person your request. Then send them a cmail too stating your request. Some folks have limited time available and with all the requests they get they only have time to confirm your request by cmail.

Some folks will confirm your request on the swap thread. Send them a cmail anyways. With all the requests flying, sometimes a post might accidentally get missed and the cmail helps prevent this. You’ll get a cmail back from them of confirmation letting you know if they still have those seeds available or if they are out and you need to make another request.

Some folks only have internet privileges once a week, so be patient when waiting for confirmations. Also, we have had folks who have lost power from storms and such, but they will post and confirm as soon as possible.

For oinking for seed on the thread. Please look at these examples to give you an idea of how it done if you've never been in a swap before.

You can request from as many folks you want in one post, but only 5 items at a time a post. If somebody has 10 items you want, you will need to make two posts. Please try and bold the person name if you can. There is a 20 packet Oink limit on requests per day.

In Part 1 there is a 100-pack limit on the "oinked " seeds going to you. It is your responsibility to keep up with the number of seed packets you have oinked for. To help you, on your database seed listing spot, there is a place where you can keep track of trades coming in and going out, if you want to use it. Sometimes, this limit is raised. If I raise limits, it will be announced in a bolded text post by me or one of the admin's.

All important swap announcements are in bolded text, so make sure you read the threads.

All persons in the Regular and Newbie group need to have at least a start on their seed list posted and viewable before they can request seeds from other folks. You can post all your seeds at once or due part at a time, whatever your comfortable with.

All in the Survivor group, while you will not have a seed swap list, you will need to have your space in the swap database and your wishlist and about my garden section filled out before asking the Regular Piggies for seed.

Due to weather conditions and when seeds may be harvested and ready, lists are added to constantly, so you'll want to check folks lists often so you don't miss out on something good.

To get started:

List your seeds and other information here:

Just click on add a new entry to this database. Put in your screen name and add your entries. To find other people’s list just click on any screen name. If you need help just ask.

MAKE SURE YOU HIT THE SAVE BUTTON every time you add or delete or make a correction, so you don't lose your work.

IMPORTANT: Now although people are encouraged to be piggies and oink for anything they'd like, that what we all here for after all, I am reserving the right to cmail and warn anybody I feel is going overboard. It's fine to ask for lots of seeds, but it's not fine to just go down and ask somebody's whole list because you don't feel like looking them up to see if you really want those particular seeds. That is just not fair and deprives somebody who may really have wanted those seeds to lose out on having them. If you receive a warning from me and don't heed it, you may be asked to leave the swap.

ALSO Please don't abuse the Regular piggies good hearts. The seed offered up is for the participants in this swap, both the Regulars and the Survivors. Please do not be asking for seed for your friends. If they would like to get seed, let them know where to sign up and come ask for what they want. We would be glad to have them, they need to do their own oinking.

Take your time in going through the seed lists. Make sure it what you really want. Use your 100 oinks wisely so that as seed is posted later you really want you'll be able to oink for it.
