Sorry for the confusion about the filing boxes - I meant Sorellina's box that she received for christmas from her husband Duane. I am interested in people's organization systems.

First, I divided my seeds of flowers and vegetables. Problem with this division is herbs. I put the herbs that I use in cooking with veggies and others with herbs. There are some that can be considered both. I subdivide each group into seeds to wintersow, seeds to start inside and seeds to direct sow. Some seeds can be sowed numerous ways which I have noted in a website. In each group, I have seeds sorted alphabetically - flowers by latin names, veggies by common names. I had them in a shoebox with handmade dividers. I got plastic shoe boxes, but am having trouble because the plastic boxes have rounded corners.

During the piggy swap, I went thru my box and pulled out seeds that I wasn't going to sow this year to pass on to the piggies. Once I got my remaining seeds organized and sorted, a scuffle between Winston the pug and Bella the stealth cat dumped my box. Arghh. I organized it again! I also have another box with seeds from my garden stored in pill bottles and other containers. I also have some prepackaged seeds to trade in a little box (formerly holding tea bags). I keep thinking that there may be a better way to organize things.

According to the website, my box is still in Alabama. I don't mind waiting if they eventually find my box. Otherwise, I will be very disappointed. I had such fun in the swap and am looking forward to starting my seeds. this gives me more time to clean house and set up my seed starting shelf.
