There are some that can be considered both. I subdivide each group into seeds to wintersow, seeds to start inside and seeds to direct sow. Some seeds can be sowed numerous ways which I have noted in a website. In each group, I have seeds sorted alphabetically - flowers by latin names, veggies by common names. I had them in a shoebox with handmade dividers.

Andi ~ I have a question...do you have a wintersow box? Or just each category and then a wintersow section? That has been the source of my frustration as that is when I have everything out of order. Like another box to "sow now"...then I don't get them all sown. I suppose I should just pull a finite number of packets each day, and if they do not get sown, either put them back or sow them the next day. This is true, especially in spring, when I am busy with other garden projects and chores as well...

I think that I will wait to donate after I discover that the seeds are viable. At that time, I will put them in a donation box, and of course, throw out the seeds that do not germinate. It gets more complicated as I have hung onto these seeds for too many years. I suppose I could do a "Deno seed test" for the ones I am not sowing...then I will know if they are good.
