I've been away a few days and didn't have a chance to read this thread, wow that's horrible about the yard spray. While I was away of course i had jumped the gun and planted out tomatoes and basil, so I called while I was away and got my daughter to put upside down flower pots on everything because temps were going into the upper thirties...when I got back everything was fine, even the basil that she forgot to cover. Guess it only went down in upper thirties for a few hours. I really dodged a bullet. Here are some pictures of perennials that are coming up as well as a couple annuals planted this spring. The marigold is from seeds I collected at a nearby apple orchard that has a huge "hedge" of marigolds that reseeds every year. Mine looks puny but it has months to grow.
