My strawberries are languishing in window boxes. We typically have fresh strawberries late June/early July. There is a farm nearby where you can pick your own. they have the strawberries planted along water lines/sprinklers. I am not sure where to plant them. They take a lot of room and the critters get more than I do. Another problem I had, is the birds planted wild strawberries while eating my berries. At least the wild ones have yellow flowers, so they are easy to separate when they are in bloom. I probably wont get a harvest this year, but can plant them well and hope for next year. Any suggestions for strawberry planting? |
