Thanks for your sympathy. I am thinking of adding a pair of kittens or a puppy to the household. Winston the pug doesn't mind friendly cats. He can be unpredictable with dogs, especially other males. I wish that I had some garden food to cook and eat. My tomatoes are starting to turn yellow. I ate one small Carmen pepper - and saved the seeds. I have two small eggplants in my potted eggplant. I am glad that it is surviving after the deer nibbled the top leaves. On the bright side, although the veggies are late, there aren't many bugs this year. I like grilled peppers. I cut them in half, remove the seeds, brush both sides with olive oil, sprinkle with sea salt and grill the skin side without turning the pepper. I love the dahlias Joseph. They are beautiful. I am not sure how the tubers taste, but the flowers are a feast for the eyes. You could probably sell bouquets on market day, but then you wouldn't get seeds. |
