|I'm here (and carefully wiping the snow off my little piggy hooves...)
Ella, I'm glad your power is more or less back ! I've never seen a squirrel nest up close either, but I figured they must be put together pretty well to withstand the wind and storms way up in the trees.
Andi -- you are good hearted and yes, many times that leads to frustration, but I'm pretty sure you get extra credit in some future life for your efforts ! (I was thinking today that I hope our fate in the afterlife doesn't rest on how many undone projects we have... because I am going to be in deep doo-doo !!)
I was so happy this morning to wake up and see that almost all of our snow was gone from the rain and 40-degree weather the last couple of days... but then it started snowing and now things are all white again I was pretty amazed, though, when I went out to check on things in my hoophouse (for the first time in about 4 or 5 days), fully expecting most things to be mush, and yet everything was fine! I have lettuce, chard, spinach, scallions, carrots, parsley, chives, mini cabbage, broccoli, kohlrabi and turnips growing in there, and although some things I obviously didn't plant early enough, I consider this project pretty successful in that we've had temps as low as 8F outside 2 days in a row, and quite a few nights in the low 20's.
If anyone is interested (although I have no idea why anyone in this group would need more seeds ), I got an email from Pinetree Seeds about a 15% off Black Friday deal for Nov. 28th, phone and online orders, code BLK2014.
