Man oh man, that wind yesterday was brutal - sustained winds of 70kmh and gusts up to 100kmh! Despite Duane anchoring supports for the poly tunnels, they decided to take a trip to Ottawa! Ok they only made it a few houses down our street, but still! He was out there last night in the dark wrestling with the plastic covers because the overnight temp was only 2C and he was determined to save the chard. Bless him. Angel I'm so very grateful that we did not lose power. Thousands in the city did.

Today, I've got to can the Musquee de Province Pumpkin to make room for the turkey in the fridge. It is currently stuffed to the gills with chunked up pumpkin. I've still got some of the One 2 Many as well, but I'm going to puree that instead.

Garden plans? That usually happens for me in mid-January when it's like the world's worst children's movie: Ice Age meets Frozen. Angry

I have no idea about flowers, but something's got to be done for the celery. It needs its own dedicated bed - not something Duane wants to hear, I'm certain. We both really really loved the celery, but it overwhelmed the onions planted with it and we barely got any. Onions are something I use pretty much every day. At the community garden next year, I want to do a very small scale version of what Joseph does and grow lots of cucurbits there, hard-shell gourds, pumpkins, and smaller winter squash. These are more like New Year's Resolutions and not garden plans, but that's where I am, evaluating what worked and what didn't over the course of this season. The last thing is Duane's fervent intention to get his peppers planted on time. It makes a gigantic difference in what we're able to do with the other garden produce from Sept-Oct.
Grazie a tutti,
