Joseph, you can transplant parsnips? I had no idea! I have a hard time getting them to germinate. I planted some Labor Day weekend and some did germinate but I doubt whether I'll get any to grow. We'll see.

Austrian winter peas? Sounds interesting. I may have to try some of them, that is, of course, if they would even grow down here. And spinach with no protection? All sounds very interesting!
