|Ella -- I was actually looking for articles on growing cane sugar (I have some rooted pieces that I'm trying to start) when I came across this tutorial on "How to make cane syrup at home... without a sugar cane press." One of the last lines in the article says "I bet it would also work for sorghum." Now that I know I can actually do something with the sorghum, without having to spend an arm and a leg on a press, I'm super excited to grow it again this year and try my hand at Sorghum Syrup making. Also, as an added bonus, Traditional Sorghum Syrup is listed on the Ark of Taste, whose goal is "to rediscover and catalogue forgotten flavors by documenting excellent food products that are in danger of disappearing."
