Thanks, LeBug. I will set my shelves at 18" and maybe the lowest shelves a bit bigger (for totes of supplies and tall plants in a pinch). I have metal industrial/garage type shelves. They should work.

I am adding a light fixture to a cornice in front of my main window and my dining room window. Some of my houseplants need a bit more heat and light in the winter. I'll take pictures once I finish these projects. Guess who still needs to get the rest of her curtain rods out of the garage. I have a huge assortment of curtain rods. I am hoping that I can make them work without having to buy new ones. Of course the little brackets that screw into the wall are in either a box or one of my toolboxes. I finally found them this week.

The place has blinds on most of the windows. They are such a pain to dust and clean. I like them better as plant markers. I think I have a lifetime supply of those from my old place. I grabbed blinds from the dumpster all the time when people moved. Here, I plan on pulling them up to the top and pretending the ugly plastic things aren't hiding under my beautiful new custom curtains.
