Star, you asked about sprouting the Pink Banana (Musa velutina) seed. Banana seed are notoriously difficult, and the one time I tried it I had no success. Here are a couple links to get you started. The first link was really interesting regarding putting the seed in your mouth and sucking on them for a while before sowing. Immediately put me in mind of Joseph's spit-soaking idea. ![]() Although they can sprout in a couple weeks or so, it can take 6 mos. to a year or more. Because of this, one of the more interesting approaches I have heard (I can't find the link) is to simply sow them in a pot with plants you keep in the sun and take good care of. Just be sure to label/keep note of which pot so you don't pull them up as weeds if/when they do sprout!
