Chelle For indoor. Fill seed starting tray with fine seed starting mix. When wetting it, wet it with a mix of water and hydrogen peroxide. Let sit and drain til almost dry. I use the fafard. I gently lay on top of soil, cover with very thin and I mean thin layer of vermicultite. Put little labels in side high enough to keep baggy off the top of the soil. Keep at 60-70F under lights 24/7. Usually takes about 7 to 10 days. They also usually germinate irregularly.

Pansies are very fussy. They not easy to do. If your temps are about 80 , they harder to get to germinate, so take the temp of your soil, nit the air around you. Once the seedlings do emerge, reduce temps to 60F to keep them from getting diseased.

Don't use a soil mix that has a high pH. Pansies liek about a 5.5 to 5.8 ph for germination. Also if using the vermicultite on top for cover, make sure it big pieces. if you use the fine vermicultite, it actually smothers the seed and kills it.

I sure others will chime in for you too. Big Grin
