Lebug, I hope your blue penstemon survives and produces seeds that you get to offer in the swap. I grew some from seeds years ago (before I knew much of anything about gardening). One survived and grew beautifully. I was so proud of my plant. Then one day, for some reason, I dug it up to move it to a different location. I put it in a pot and never got around to planting it. It sat through out hot sun, heat and humidity without skipping a beat. Then we had nearly 3 months of continuous rain and it died. If I had replanted it sooner, or if I had just taken the time to place it in some well draining potting mix, it would have survived. I just never remembered the name of the plant in order to replace it. All I knew is that it had heterophyllus in the nam, flowered like a salvia, but did not have the stalk, leaves or scent resembling any pictures I looked at. Thanks for jogging my memory. I hope to be able to grow it again as I really loved that electric blue color. It was also the 1st time I'd ever tried seed sowing by stratifying seeds in the 'fridge. |
