Landrace: locally-adapted diversity

A friend sent me seed from a cowpea landrace that she is starting. Wow. Maybe there will be enough diversity in it for something to thrive for me. I have a strain of blackeyed peas that I got from the Hoggy swap a few years ago that are locally adapted enough to produce seed reliably for me.
