I don't want to buy THAT brand of kitty litter!

I also used to think that cold frames were to keep plants cold, and warm frames were to keep plants warm. Wrong!

"Warm frames" have a heat source other than solar - like decomposing manure or heating cables or an incandesent bulb. Maybe some day this will be how we store nuclear waste. One way to kill off the slugs ... or mutate them into ten-foot-long monsters. Sticking tongue out

"Cold frames" passively catch sunlight, turn it to heat, and then slow down the escape of the heat.
