Repainting or retouching existing furniture is a great way to stretch your decorating budget. A wide assortment of products let you retouch gilt picture frames, varnished bureau edges, metal powder finishes and even plastic resin patio furniture. Materials may differ, but all retouching projects require certain common procedures. Paint or retouch furniture to coordinate old treasures with your new decorating vision and save money at the same time. For an example, picture a much-loved and much used child's chair, with scuff marks on the rungs, a small crack in an armrest and nicks on the seat rim.
