thats what im talking about.. yeah.. that one is great.. i like the ones that arnt angels and fairies(i like those too) because they are rare to find..
Hi Stormy, that is a great statue! Looks antique like what would have been found in a Victorian Garden ... very nice!
Most of my garden art is cheapy stuff .. fades out so fast in the blazing summer sun here. I love Angel's as garden art but love just about anything else sitting in a garden amongst the blooms too! One of my favorite pieces is this cement sign made by BetterBloom/Sandy from DG.
This is something I made after seeing phot's and reading about it on a DG Forum. An old bowling ball covered with flower pic's cut from magazines. I have broken so many glass globes over the years I decided to never buy another one and when I saw this craft on DG I just had to try. It's faded out now but I hope to re-do it and do another in mirror bits. I saw one done in pennies too that was really neat!
This photo is kind of dark because it was a cloudy day, but you can get the idea I think. My bowling ball/gazing ball:
Stormy: That statue really is great, is it made of cement? It looks heavy!
Dana: The bowling ball art is so much fun ... and if this old blonde who has no creative talent whatsoever can do it, anyone can do it! I saw some on DG that were done with mosaic tiles, pennies glued to them, and mirrored glass and I think someone did one with colored glass chips. I guess the ideas are limitless. A friend of mine gave me two old bowling balls but someone said to ask at a local bowling alley to see if they have any they don't want anymore. When they get cracked or worn out after many years I guess they throw them out. I have one someplace that had a wide crack around the middle and my husband filled the crack for me and sanded it all down ... I never decided what to put on it but was thinking of smashing up an old mirror to use! The ball is out in the shed someplace and I need to find it and get busy. I love the idea of mirrors. And, the bowling balls are so heavy there's less of a chance of them breaking like the glass gazing balls!
Keep us posted if you do one ... and show us a picture!
do you just ask the bowling ally for old ones... mom got a new ball .. so i was hoping her old on was laying around but no such luck. she cant find it.
i got a bowling ball at the goodwill
