|I may hijack my own section, even, in regards to low carb diets. I highly recommend avoiding low carb diets, as I have seen several people get messed up on them, have read very little good about them, and a lot of bad. Unless there is some specific medical condition necessitating carb removal, it is much better to pay attention to the types consumed, concentrating on whole grain, not as processed, whole food based items. The white bread, pasta, sugared cereal and drinks, and similar items are what cause most of the negative reactions in people, as these simple carbohydrates react fast with the body. Complex carbohydrates are digested much more slowly, and of course fiber (non-digested carbohydrates) cleans you out.
You may want to check out Dr. Weil's website for more information. He likes to push his supplements, but has lots of good information on his site, as well.
