Welcome to the GettingtoKnowYou forum.

I hope that you will join us here in getting to know each other. What makes you tick? What are your likes and dislikes? What are your dreams and plans for the future? What are your hobbies? Are you a happy camper or a disgruntled and disgusted person determined to make some changes for the better in your life? How do you plan to go about it? Do you plan your life and the things you do daily or do you just let the chips fall where they may?

You get the idea. Come in and sit and tell us all abuut your life and maybe you will find others here who feel exactly as you do. .We can possibly share ideas and probable solutions to things from how to thread a needle to how to overcome someone or something out to destroy you if you don't move quickly. How's about telling us how you are coping or not comping with your kids problems at the present time. Tell us how you solved the problems with you old lawn mower or old car. How you almost killed yourself by doing some dumb trick with the electricity or in your car..........Let's talk about the good times and the bad times..See where I am going yet? Sure you do. Let's talk.

I am in zone 6b so it will be a while for us. I am going to start tomato seeds pretty soon inside though. It is getting on toward sleepy bye time fo rme so I will check on a few more cubits and head to bed. Have a great rest of the evening.

Ha! I found you, Elena! Hurray!

Since you asked, here is my latest dumb adventure. I came down with a case of large, itchy hives that would not respond to anything OTC so I went to the doctor. He was not exactly sure what was causing it, either, so he took a biopsy. Anything involving blood grosses me out so I told him rambling stories about Yellowstone while he took the sample. He put three stitches in the site and it looks really gross. Then I had to go for a blood test. I told the technician about how I am in the top 1% of squeamishness and how I will ramble on about something to keep my mind occupied, so we talked about sports. I also got a prescription for prednozone and that has knocked down the itching substantially. So there you have it. See how glamourous and exciting it is here in Hollywood Land? Rolling my eyes. Hey, you asked what was going on in my life. Sticking tongue out

Yes I did ask and you responded exactly as I hoped everyone would. Do you have any earthly idea what you were allergic to that cause the hives? Hope it doesn't happen again any time soon.
I know that you folks are getting more rain than you need out there in Lollywood land. I think you told me once that your house wasn't in any danger of sliding down a hill. That is good.

In case you haven't found the "Gathering Place" thread it is the only other one in this cubit. Smiling I told folks there that you are a random writer at TGP. You beautifully cover so many topics it is hard to put you in a particular catagory. Come back here often and let us know what you are up to. I am turning in folks. It has been a long day. Sleep tight and don't forget to lock up when you leave. If Horseshoe is anywhere around he will get you a cup of coffee if you will just ask him. There may be some snack on the counter and you are welcome to them if you can find any.

Glad you found us, Starr. Looks like a lot of us are nightowls. I am working on going to bed at a decent time but am not doing a very good job of it. It is a life long habit so I really don't expect to change very much. I am just trying to get it to about 1 AM or a tiny bit earlier. I am not having a whole lot of luck yet however. See everyone later in the day. I am gonna box a few more Christmas decorations. I am tired to death of thinking about that project. Wish me luck.

Good Luck!

I usually average about 6 hours a night... I go to bed somewhere around 2am and am back up by 8:00... just call me the night shift... Sometimes I get on when I come down from the barn... Like now...

We sure have had a crazy winter... We have had colder than normal and wetter than normal. I have not seen so much snow since I moved herei in 1993.

Speaking of bad winters, it is unbelievable what folks are experiencing with all of these record snowfalls I have been seeing on the news. Makes me happy being down south, I can tell you.

My husband is a terrible sleeper too and he says that in a 24 hour period of time there is almost always one of us awake and that burgulars would have a hard time not finding someone on guard around here.
If I get 6 hours sleep at night I am really lucky. I try to make up for what I should have by taking a nap after lunch whenever I can. Looks like it is time for that nap right now so I better scoot and catch a few winks now.

Hi Kelli, how's that allerigic reaction coming? Hope all is better now...

I sleep more than I did when I was younger... I used to get by on 4 or 5 hours a night... but guess I am getting old... haha

Well, I am off to explore this site... I still do not know how it all works... it may take me awhile, but I will get there eventually...

This cubits site is growing like Topsy and it is difficult to keep up with it. I believe a person could stay on here all day and still never keep up. It is great, isn't it?

Kelli, I too need at least 8 hours sleep to do well. I just can't sleep that long though. I am working at trying to get more sleep though because it is just better for people to get the right amount of sleep that their body needs and I seldom get that.

Here is a shot taken just after midnight during the last storm... somehow the moon was glowing through the clouds and it had let up snowing for just a bit... It is not touched up... these are the colors that came through when I took the picture...

That is a strange picture. Do you have any idea what caused it to look so green?

I was pretty itch-free yesterday but it has started acting up again today - not as bad as orginally, but something I could do without.

We went hiking today. This waterfall dries up in the summer. Some of the bushes look grey because they are blooming. The flowers are white, but it somehow translates to grey over a distance.

I hope you had a good hike, Kelli. That is a beautiful picture.

For everyone who might need a laugh today here are a few funny thoughts.

Idle thoughts of a retiree's wandering mind...

....I planted some bird seed. A bird came up. Now I don't know what to feed it.

....I had amnesia once -- or twice.

....Protons have mass? I didn't even know they were Catholic.

....All I ask is a chance to prove that money can't make me happy.

....What is a "free" gift? Aren't all gifts free?

....They told me I was gullible... and I believed them.

....Experience is the thing you have left when everything else is gone.

....One nice thing about egotists: they don't talk about other people.

....My weight is perfect for my height -- which varies.

....I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure.

....The cost of living hasn't affected its popularity.

....How can there be self-help "groups"?

....Show me a man with both feet firmly on the ground, and I'll show you a man who can't get his pants off.

....Is it my imagination, or do buffalo wings taste like chicken?
