Is that plastic canvas? Very nice!

We had a good day today but DH seems to be coming down with a stomach virus. It's going around. Please say another prayer for him. He also has a head cold. I got my new planting bed ready for fall planting. Now to decide what I want to plant. Hmmm

Kelli, that is beautiful! Like Cajun asked, is that plastic canvas? I have never done anything like that. Is it difficult?

Cajun, I am always remembering you guys in my prayers. I hope the stomach virus doesn't last long and that you won't get it. Went went through that recently and took several days for our stomachs to get back to normal even after the initial symptoms.

I am headed to bed. Nighty night and I will say prayers for all of you, you too Kelli.

Thanks. It is plastic canvas. If you can do counted cross-stitch, you can do plastic canvas. Like counted cross-stitch, the hard part is keeping track of where you are. It took longer to make than I would have expected. I figured I could get it done in a week but it was more like three.

Kelli, it's very pretty. The second one should go faster. We tend to think of wreaths mostly for Christmas, I guess with the availability of real greens, but these needlework ones could be for any theme. Be sure to show us the other one, ok?

I used to do lots of plastic canvas stuff. I really enjoyed it. It is very relaxing. I used to let my kids make Christmas ornaments from it when they were little. I may do that with my class at church this year.

The second one does seem to be coming along a little faster. The hardest part is the grapes, having to keep switching between colors and keeping track of where you are on the master chart.

Mary, the second one will be the same as the first. We have two front doors, so I need two of the same. (I hang them on the inside so they don't get dirty and faded.)

Cheryl, sounds like a good class project.

I made this for MIL for Christmas. Actually, I did the embroidery. It was prequilted.

Yes, she does. I never tried it. I know a bunch of people who were into counted cross stitch about 20 years ago, too tedious for me but I did enjoy watching them and seeing the progress on their projects from week to week. We had a potluck/fellowship time after church at one couple's house every week, it was like a big family. Kids played games outside or inside, little groups did needlework, played a board game, had discussions, took walks, and we all enjoyed each other's company.

I never did try it either. My daughters did however. They made me several beautiful framed creations. I love all of them especially since I know they worked so hard making them for me. I was too lazy to try it. I am a crafts person of sorts and always have been but I like to make things that don't take so long to do. I have never had the patience to do such undertakings and want simpler things I can do in short order. I do admire anyone who has that kind of patience though. In other words when someone else is creating a pieced quilt, I might consent to making a pillow of the same design. Big Grin

Thank you for the compliments. It does take a long time. Each section of that quilt took at least a month. It took a lot longer than expected, to tell you the truth.

I'm with you, Elena. I have the attention span of a gnat. I like to do crafts but it has to be something I can finish it a couple days at most. I used to enjoy counted cross stitch on plastic canvas. I made a few picture frames and the kids made Christmas ornaments when they were little.

It is nice that I am not in that boat alone. I admire the works of others and appreciate the many hours it took to create them but I will stick to admiring and not doing...... Thumbs up
