I like hickory nuts but haven't seen any in a long time. I love cashews but know zilch about growing them.

I didn't know that hickory nuts were edible for humans. I'm not sure, but I don't think they grow cashews in the U.S.

Thanks for the new thread. It was taking about 3 minutes to load the old one. How is your kitty today?

I just realized that it had gone over 100 posts. Is that a bad number for you? I can make it much less if need be. Just let me know, please.

Kitty is ok and thanks for asking. He and I both had a bad weekend but he is back acting like he is feeling better now. My precious vet was on a weekend outing with his young cub scout son and was hard to reach. Bless his sweet heart, he knows how much I depend on him so several years ago he gave me his email address and told me that he checks it regularly. I was told that I could email him anytime I needed him. I did and didn't hear right away but when I did, I didn't get to the phone in time and he just said he would email me. I waited and didn't hear from him until much later in the evening. He gave me his advice and it turned out I had done the right thing in my concern to help the cat. It was no wonder he didn't get right back to me as he had dropped his phone in the lake. When it dried out it still worked. That relieved me knowing I didn't make a mistake in my judgment. Years of pet experience paid off on that one for me this time. Kitty has been feeling his oats this evening. He seems to be trying to tell me to quit worrying because he is alright now.

It's the pictures that make a thread slow to load. I'm on satelite, which is faster than dial up but not like cable. Sometimes the text would show up, but all the pictures came later, and while they load the text jumps around. Other times I had a blank screen for several minutes with a message on the little bar at the bottom that said "waiting for......" I'll let you know when it is getting slow.

Glad to hear that your kitty emergency is over!

Just say the word any time and a new thread will appear like magic. Smiling Your wish is my command!

Kitty is happy as a lark and therefore so am I. It has always stressed me when any of my animals are/were in need of care and I am not quite sure what needs to be done. I told my precious vet that once his son got to the boy scout level he/the dad would learn to put things like cell phones in waterproof containers. I could just imagine the big grin on his face when he read that.

It is nice outside to day and we are getting bunches of necessary yard work accomplished. "Make hay while the sun shines" is our motto. Too much sun is always something that has to be worked around also. Have a great day in the Lord.

I am so glad you are feeling well today. Praise the Lord. Haven't had a report on your health or that of your dear hubby in quite some time. We do better in the spring, don't we? I know I do. Love you guys. Bye Mary and bye Cheryl for now anyway. Group hug

Yesterday was very productive and I fell asleep satisfied but I am paying for it today. My body is aching so I am taking it easy this morning. It is also cool and overcast. It rained last night. If the sun comes out I will feel better. Got a small bed made for my strawberries and got 20 plants in. I still have about 30 more plants to find a place for. I may just have to naturalize with them.

"I may just have to naturalize with them." Explain please. Confused

We had lots of good rain. They say we are probably going to have a dry summer so all the rain we can get now will help the water table later on. Everything is really greening up here. I love spring. Kinda wish it could be spring all year.... but of course we wouldn't have the other seasons with the different sorts of beauty they bring... so guess it is better to have the four seasons after all. Big Grin Hope you get to feeling better as the day progresses.

It means growing things that are natural to your area. Since wild strawberries are found here in the mountains I can put these out in clumps and kinda let nature take it's course rather than containing them all in a "bed". I'll let nature water them and I pick the bounty when there is some. You run the risk of drought and such keeping you from having much of a harvest but the crowns of the plants should survive and live to thrive another year when the conditions might be better. It's the way God gardens in the wilds. :) They will also spread naturally and make a nice patch over the coming years.

Elena, I'm glad the kitty is doing o.k.

Me, I've been feeling very tired. I don't know if it is because I was sick three times in the past six weeks, or perimenopause, or both, or something else. It's a real drag to not feel well during wildflower season and DH is going to get worried pretty soon. He doesn't understand tired.

Kelli, I pray it is nothing serious. Bad time to be sick. (is there a good time?) But especially when there are so many pretty things to take pics of.

Kelli, I hope it is nothing that is going to keep you out of the action for long. Have you ever considered taking B12 shots? You might be able to get your doctor to let you try them for a while to see if they will help with the fatigue. I have to fill in between shots sometimes with the ones you put under your tongue. They work well but not as well as the shots. I don't have any luck at all with the liquid you put under your tongue.

TriVita super Sublingual B12

All you writers at TGP take note. Geoff has put your signatures in good shape so go check them out. If you like them, you can copy and paste the same material you find there in your membership information over here in Cubits. That way, you won't have any URLs to view but just the name of the thread or site. I decided to use the word "websites" instead of forums or cubits because eventually folks will be listing Facebook and all sorts of other places also. Some others will have personal websites to list. I think you will like the change. Check it out. Let me know if you have trouble changing the BBC code material over to Cubits.

Also, we now have a new feature, you can click on the new feature over on the left and send any page you are on to anyone. I think it will be a good thing that people can use and it will also help our circulation to have people recommending us. I read about this the other day and asked Geoff to install it. See how you like it.

Then paste it into your membership signature information here
at cubits. Of course you will have to delete what is already there and start over, Maybe one of the three of you can get that done first and report back here on your success or failure. If it doesn't work, I will call on Geoff to look at mine and see what might be the problem you would be having. I didn't do mine here but rather had a friend do it for me so I am still in the dark on this myself. Hang in there, cause we will get it figured eventually and we will all look really professional like we actually knew what was going on. If you guys don't tell on us, I surely won't.

By the way, sending me an email at home wont' work today cause I am using the ancient laptop that doesn't even have email installed. Main Computer is in crash mode. Geoff worked all night on it and it is still messed up. He will try again tonight. Might have to clean it all off and start over. You all know how long that might take. You should be able to Dmail or Cmail me and I can get the messages when I come online even if I don't get one at home telling me about it. I will let you know here when the home computer is up and running again.

That's a bummer. Computer problems are so frustrating.

DH asked what he could do to make me feel better. I said, "Nothing. I'm just at an awkward age." Hilarious! As long as I have my sense of humor - strange as it is - there is hope.
