Hi All,
Covered in snow here in NY, got hit with about 20", schools closed for 2 days, going to be a LONG time till it alll melts, on the bright side the hummers are moving up the map, YES!!! Spring is soon to be here, can't wait.

Flys only live 2 days, so they better eat that popcorn fast. Rolling on the floor laughing

Must go try that random cubit & see if I can land in a cool one, Have a great day all. :)Anita

Hi Anita. I am sorry you folks are getting hit by so many show storms. Hang in there and spring will be coming your way soon. 2 DAYS for flies to live, huh? I doubt is one fly can cause much grief but if he brings his entire family then two days will be more than enough to drive us nuts by the moon. I hear that your city is a beautiful one. My hubby used to go there often years ago to the Corning plant as the purchasing manager for Aladdin Industries. I still have lots of Corning products that we bought back then. Those were good days and lots of good memories for my hubby.

It makes me cold too, Lynn. It won't last much longer and all we can do is send warm wishes to our over-chilled friends in cold areas. I can't stand cold so it makes sense that I don't live in the northern parts of the country. I would just freeze to death soon if I had to brave such weather often. Sad Then someone would just have to wait to dig up the frozen ground to plant me. See how much trouble I'm avoiding for folks by living in the south! That is really nice of me, huh? Tee hee!

I think we got a bit more than the 20" I thought, do you see the globe in the front of the pic? that is 2' tall & all that is sticking out is the ball.
Not sure what tree you are asking about? I'm standing on the deck looking out in the front yard, the tree right close is next to the deck about 15-18' the trees next to the road are all diff size, form 3'-10'. the one in the bed is a lilac tree next to the rohdie, it is abouyt 6' tall, hope I got the tree you are seeing.. :)Anita

We got 0.9" of rain overnight and it is raining now. Lynn, I would imagine it is headed your way.

Would it be impolite to post some flower pictures at a time like this?

Not at all Kelli, They are what I need to see, so I don't think about all the nasty snow here.

Anita, is Corning, NY anywhere near Canoga, NY? I live in Canoga Park, CA. It was named after Canoga, NY, though I don't know why.

If it's any consolation, when we get heavy rain here, it usually warms up back east.

I posted these on a different cubit. I don't think I posted them here.

Chasmanthe...I always wondered what that plant looked like. And I loved its name. How pretty, Kelli, thanks.

Everytime I look at your photos, I want whatever it is.
Guess I need to be changing zones.

This story was in a e-mail that I got today. I think you all will like it.

A group of graduates, well established in their careers, were discussing their lives at a class reunion. They decided to go visit their old university professor, now retired, who was always an inspiration to them. During their visit, the conversation turned to complaints about stress in their work, lives and relationships. Offering his guests hot chocolate, the professor went into the kitchen and returned with a large pot of hot chocolate and an assortment of cups. Some cups were porcelain, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite. He invited each to help themselves to the hot chocolate. When they all had a cup of hot chocolate in hand, the professor shared his thoughts.

“Notice that all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.”
“While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.”
“The cup that you are drinking from adds nothing to the quality of the hot chocolate. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink.”
“What each of you really wanted was hot chocolate. You did not want the cup . . . but you consciously went for the best cups.”
“And soon, you began to eye one another’s cups.”
“Now friends, please consider this . . .
“Life is the hot chocolate . . . your job, money and position in society are the cups.”
“They are just tools to hold and contain life.”
“The cup you have does not define, nor does it change, the quality of life you are living.”
“Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the hot chocolate God has provided us.”

"Always remember this . . . . . . . . . .
God brews the hot chocolate, He does not choose the cup.
The happiest people don't have the best of everything.
They just make the best of everything that they have!!
Live simply . . .
Love generously . . .
Care deeply . . .
Speak kindly . . .
Leave the rest to God."

"~ and remember ~ The richest person is not the one who has the most, but the one who needs the least."

"Enjoy your hot chocolate!!"
