CLOSED Anyone Else want some seeds? Please read the whole post. Don't forget to send 3 stamps. C-mail me for my address. Closed again: Not all gourds are created equal... this last one I opened didn't have that many seeds, but, they were all empty, I cut into all of them. Not one was good, I don't know what happened. I'll reopen this. RE-Opened on June 6, 2010 and will close in one week. Will take 10 more SAS's on this offer. Please send 3 stamps, cost to mail is 1.22 and I will supply the bubble envelopes.. Start off by giving yourself a number,... start at number 7 until we hit number 17. I will wait one week for postage, cmail me for my address and give me yours. I'm opening another gourd this week. If anyone needs more, just send me postage and let me know, give yourself another number... I've got to grow some more, only two of the seedlings are still going, the others got zapped by the heat the other day. Hopefully it is not too late to get a couple of gourds starting them now, I think if you have a good climate (zone 7-8), you will have time. ![]() ![]() Please post your name here and c-mail me within 5 days. I'll be mailing them by Friday of this week, I'm running late but thought someone else might want some. Seeds are from 2009/2010 harvest, these gourds just dried so the seeds should be good and also this was the only type of gourd I grew so they should come out true. I'll try to send each one at least 10-12 seeds. All of these gourds grew over 60 inches around some were over 70 inches ![]() ![]() Please post in this thread and give yourself a number, stop at 10 please. Mailing out to 10 persons, these are the ones on my list so far: 1. denimangle 2. taters 3. Dave 4. Gardener2005 5. Petralittle Dog 6. JgGardner Second Mailing 7. Honeybunch - AR 8. Lavonne - KY 9. Cheryl - TX 10. Gretta - KS 11. Ridesredmule Third mailing 12. Samigal |

# 4 I lost a small grove of banana trees to the frost and didn`t mind too much because now I have more room to grow other things. Karen |

#6 JGGardener Mine just dried about 1 month ago and they were started last year... once the vine dries (3 or 4 months after they form) then the drying begins. Depending on the size, the time for each size varies. The vine on these died in October, and they started to dry out since then and 3 of the 5 are dry, two are still heavy, but semi-dry.. Here is a photo of them in my front yard. The Green picnic table is full size. Only three fit on it. and one fit on the table in the back. |

The photo did not post, trying again.. |

Wow, I got mine today and started a thread on them in my cubit. http://cubits.org/lakemarygardens/thread/view/21936/ Check out the difference in my ebay bushel gourd seeds and Antoinette`s bushel gourd seeds! They look great. I did not crack one open to check it but they look really good. Thanks Antoinette! Now, I must send you something special this year. Karen |

The link works now. I just plant mine in the morning and water in. My climate allows me to start them early outside so I take advantage of that. Karen |

Question .. How Deep should they be planted check out my new store Metamorphosis Upcycled/Recycled Glass http://www.facebook.com/MetamorphosisUpcycledRectcledGlass?v... , http://cubits.org/diycomfortheserious/thread/view/35215/#new... |

Me too.I have the same question. I`m double checking with you on the depth to plant the seeds. I`m planting my bushel gourd seeds about the depth of my fingernail and that works fine. But these seeds are huge so maybe a tiny bit deeper like the first joint of my thumb I`m thinking? How deep do yo plant the ginat seeds? Karen |

Great news Karen, and a fantastic baby picture., ![]() ![]() so far, 6 of the 12 seeds have germinated as of yesterday and a couple have true leaves. I think the rest will germinate also, just may take a little bit longer since they are not on heat, and the darned winds are at it again the last few days, ![]() |

great job there Cheryl... mine are still in cups, I'll probably amend the soil next week after I get back, and then transplant them into the ground at that time. I've got plenty of seeds left, so if you need more, just let me know. A. |
