Thank you guys for your patience here, I'm busy, lazy, ALL of the Above..lol, again, I'm sorry for being so late.

I do have a suggestion though, try using bottom heat next year when you germinate them and start them early, I had better success doing it that way the prior years. This year was a disaster for me. Or, maybe direct sowing, I didn't try that one.

I have only one plant going, and there are two small baby gourds so far. But, like you guys say, this heat is something.

Ridesredmule, good going there.. I'd love to see your snake babies.. Let me know if you want seeds from this one for next year.. and send the address to me.

Our water and garbage is combine. We pay about $80.00 per month, year round. Doesn't seem to matter how much water we use. Not the elecrtri? That can fluctuate from $150.00 to $250.00! And we have a small 1100 foot house!

We have 3 air conditioners going, the central went out, over $300.00 a month but sure beats burning up.
I got a picture of my Snake gourd vine, it is on the fence in back of some brugs. Thumb of 2010-08-05/Ridesredmule/b49665
I took a paintbrush down to other oe but I couldn't see any pollen on that brush but I dabbed anyway. I think it may be too late for it.

when we get our house finished we will geo heat & cooling & two 15000 gal water tanks should cut our bills down to under $100. a month.
The next thing will be solar but thats a few years down the road

I have lots of bees & ladybugs if they can't get the job done I dont think a paint brush will do me much good the flowers are up on the top Rolling on the floor laughing

Lurking around and enjoying the pictures. I'm wondering if I should try gourds since they need a lot of water. We don't get any rain during the summer and not all that much during the winter. Even when I save water for use during the summer months it just isn't enough. Have to come up with a better idea. Confused
