Truth is worth finding
We have 89 deg after a whole week of rain 4'' plus here
Feels like a sauna outside
I had to come inside to get a drink and cool off.

Oh boy, that is WAY too hot and steamy for me! Sounds like a day to sit in the shade with your icy drink of choice... It's been unseasonably warm for us here as well, but by that I mean mid 70s, LOL! I think I'll stay here in my cool north woods (although the mosquitoes and deer flies have recently made their appearance, not the best part of living in the woods..)

Well, I guess one word sums up the whole summer for us - HOT! Record heat and lack of rain. Right now we are 17 days without rain. We might get some Sunday.
I'm sure hoping.

Woodthrush, my cool north woods didn't last too long this year -- it stayed unseasonably warm all summer; even relatives that came up from Florida to visit in August (hoping to get away from their hot weather) were too hot! Hilarious!

We did at least have plenty of rain, and yet not too much like other parts of the country -- hope you will get some soon!

I'm in the woods also. In the Pocono Mts in PA. We usually have cool, damp conditions in the summer. Lived in our house here 27 years and have never
seen the ground this dry.

Weather here has gone crazy. I've lived here four years now, and I still have no idea what 'typical' weather is like. This year records tumbled all over the place. Snow depth was the deepest ever recorded. In contrast July/August was the hottest ever. Record high of 37 Celsius (98 Farenheit)

Well, Pat I guess the crazy weather is everywhere. We have had the exact same things you are describing.

It's absolutely beautiful here today. Temps are around 75, bright and sunny with a light breeze.

All the best to Critter. To cheer you up, we had our first snowfall yesterday. Today it's plus three Celsius, sleeting, and blowing a gale.

Pat, That sounds wonderful to me. I love snow, but not darkness! What part of Finland do you live in?

A place called Nurmo. It's a suburb of Seinajoki, which is about a quarter of the way up on the left hand side. Moved here from Devon, England four years ago, and been on a steep learning curve ever since. Learning Finnish is hard in your mid-seventies! Smiling

Learning Finnish is hard at any age!! It is the oddest looking language, on paper.

It's equally odd when spoken! There are thirteen cases of the noun, but two of them aren't used very often - which is a great comfort Hilarious!

Woke this morning to about 4" of snow! It's melting fast; but freezing tonight, so roads will be tricky. Glad I don't have to go anywhere. I'll get my winter tyres fitted next week.

LOL, Stormy, i will send you some of ours this winter!!!

We went down to lower Michigan for a few days and drove back on Thursday, ran through rain and snow mixed from Gaylord (in the northern lower peninsula) all the way home. At least it didn't stay on the ground! (I still have way too much to do outside...)
