|The last day of June already! Finally had nice weather on Monday and weeded the carrots, beets and onions, mulched the corn, and put up a little trellis for the beans in the hoophouse because they were looking so "viney" -- more like a half-runner than a bush type, but whatever! Looks much neater now. Also planted some leftover celery and leek plants in the hoophouses to see how they will do there. The "Chablis" peppers (new to me this year) are the earliest to set fruit, both in the main garden and in the hoophouse; Lido Lamuyo is right behind them. I really have to get busy and get the beets and carrots thinned out, and plant some lettuce and radishes in the main garden. Having cool weather, lows in the mid 40s the last couple of nights, and highs only in the high 60s; I think this is where the hoophouses are really going to have an edge over the outside garden.
