Name: Sandy B.
Michigan UP (Zone 4b or 5a)
This is my first year for trying this method of planting -- it basically consists of planting seeds in potting mix in some type of jug (milk, soda bottle, etc.), taping the bottle back together, and leaving it out in a protected spot where it will experience freezing/thawing and so on. Saves a lot of room under the fluorescent light setup, and the seedlings are supposed to be considerably sturdier than those grown indoors.

I've been using my stash of kitty litter jugs and so far have planted:
4 o'clocks (Mirabilis) "Stars and Stripes"
Delphinium Pacific Giants
Lupine Tutti Fruiti
Wild Lupine
Peony-flowered poppies (Mary Anderson's seed)
Aquilegia, both the native eastern and McKana's Giants
Iris (seed from my flower garden last year)
Foxglove (seed from my flower garden last year)
Asparagus (my own seed)
Flat-leaf parsley
Winter savory
Redskin Dahlia (seeds)
Cosmos (a tall orange type that grew from a seed mixture that I planted last year)
Curled-leaf parsley (my seed)
