After having a bunch of snow dumped on us at the end of February, the weather is back to feeling like spring, with temps in the mid-50s here today and, for the first time in what seems like quite a while, sunshine all day long. The snow is going fast and the frost is quickly coming out of the ground. Even saw my first robin today, and I think I heard sandhill cranes flying overhead early this morning. This is all making me very anxious to start gardening....

The "polar plunge" is affecting us, with cold temps and 3' of snow up near Lake Superior (Negaunee), but also in the southern states, where a lot of people are having problems with plants being frozen out. According to the Weather Channel today, Barrow, Alaska was warmer than the state of Alabama!
