Calming Signals--How to Interpret and Use Dog Language
By Jody Frederick on April 21, 2010

Capturing a shy dog who has gotten loose requires a "finesse capture" method, which is best achieved by knowing about dog behavior and calming signals. This article describes calming signals and how to use them in difficult capture circumstances. It is reprinted with permission from Celebrating Greyhounds: The Magazine, Spring 1998, with the intention of helping rescue groups capture the elusive lost dog. Liked this article. I have four dogs s maybe I can use it for them.
I love greyhounds my dad had one when he was having eye problems. Libby helped him thru it. She "followed" my sister home from school. No one ever did come and get her. She wa a beautiful dog. Sweet memories of Libby and greatly loved by my Dad.
Thank you.

You know you may be late but you are still learning.
Did you all realize that the same rules for your dogs applies to horse/equine herds too. You can watch their ears and the tell you a lot. i have 1 mule and 3 donkeys. When I go into the pastures i have to watch what they are telling each other and try to read their moods as they are reading mine.
they may not be able to talk but if you watch them close enough they will let you know what is going on in their world. I love my dogs too, got 4 of them in 4 sizes. Thanks for this article.
