Oh, how I wish they had shown more dances instead of all those pitches for Ryan Seacrest's new show! Five of the six "favorite" performances were favorites of mine. I wasn't that crazy about the sixth, the hip-hop by Comfort and Jasmine, tonight or the first time I saw it. I'm not sure it would even be in my top 50 favorite dances.
Jaimie and Hok were epecially amazing! Even better this time than the first time they performed that dance.
All of the flashbacks made me miss Mary Murphy so much!
I totally agree with you Zuzu. I didn't care for the Comfort/Jasmine number, either, and the stupid Ryan Seacrest show plugs were an annoying waste of time. I miss Mary and many of the other rotating judges they used in the past. Paula and this Jason guy, are just awful.

Poor Moises was eliminated from the stage team. I had a soft spot in my heart for him because he actually tap-danced with Gaby in one of the group numbers. I also felt sorry for him because the judges had been so insistent on his "lack of strength" and had commanded him to "look more masculine." It's sad for Travis because Moises has been taking dance classes from Travis since he was 13.
Although Asaf and Burim were both in danger on the street team, the silly judges chose to save Asaf, so we'll hear more complaining from him about the choreography each week.
Most of the performances last night were deadly dull. The choreographers are really dumbing down many of the routines. The hip-hop by Megz, Moises, and Jim was so simple that I think I could have done it myself after an hour of rehearsal. And why was Jim, a brilliant ballet dancer, doing a hip-hop number for the second week in a row? What a waste of talent!
Oh, so sorry to see Moises go. Despite the judges gushing about how wonderful the routines are, they definitely are dumbed down. I'm so anxious to see Jim really dance, are they purposely keeping him hidden in the hip hop routines? No excuse. It seems like the judges are all really favoring the "street" group. I miss the old format, I miss the old judges.
So far I have not liked most of the dancing, have found it rather boring, I did like the stage group dance and that's about it. I too would love to see Jim in a challenging routine worthy of his talent. Paula's comments drives me nuts, so irritating!
I watched the first episode of season 8 of America's Best Dance Crew last night and saw Jaja dancing in one of the groups. Is she really competing on two shows at once? How does she find the time to rehearse for both?
I think the contemporary piece by Jim and Ariana is worth watching, and so is the jazz piece by Hailee and Jaja. I really liked the broadway routine by Gaby and Virgil, but some people didn't like it because Gaby had to crouch unnaturally to avoid towering over Virgil. Virgil reminds me a lot of season 5's Evan, who was loaded with personality, but was so short that his partners always had to stoop or crouch when they danced with him.
Megz and Edson both surprised me last night. I thought their dance was the best of the night.
I've always been annoyed when the judges imply that a male dancer looks too feminine or too androgynous, but after seeing the group stage number last night, in which all-star Robert subbed for Jim, I see what they mean. Robert looked like such a manly-man next to the other dancers.
Saw most of the show, of course I fell asleep and missed the end, but saw the Neptune and Derek went home. Not surprising, but I liked them both, so sad to see them go. Jim's solo was so beautiful, I'd love to see him do an entire ballet routine. So many wonderful routines last night. I really loved the Gaby/Robert routine.
The Gaby/Robert routine was the very best, I agree.
The season's reached the point at which we're going to regret every elimination. It was sad to see Derek and Neptune go, but we knew that neither had a chance of winning, so it seemed appropriate to let them go. Next week's elimination from the Stage Team will be wrenching. I like Gaby, Jim, and Hailee equally -- for different reasons, but equally. Team Street is easier for me: I love Virgil and I don't feel any great affection for Megz or Jaja.
Every week this season I've been appalled by some of the costume choices, but last night's episode hit the trifecta. Kayla wore a street hooker's costume (underwear with fringe) for no good reason whatsoever, and the ill-fitting dresses on JaJa and Jaimie were distracting. I kept looking at the crooked seams instead of watching them dance.
