They are my DH Ric's work. Here is a gift he gave me several years ago. This coat rack shelf was made from sawmill oak boards that lined one of the horses stalls. The coat hooks had been used to hang the bridles on.
I love the look of free standing Wisteria.

I love to recycle things and using wood and items with a history and turning them into something purposeful again is so rewarding. Beautiful grouping you have there. I love it and especially that wood over the top! We have similar taste in wood decor as I too have some interesting pieces around the house.

Thanks, The items on the shelf change from time to time. The pine-cone basket currently holds interesting rocks. The gourd bird house was a Christmas present from a friend and the driftwood has been hanging there for quite a while, it just seems to fit the space. I have a lot of driftwood and natural items just sitting around.

We have loads of driftwood too, I just love it - it is all over our gardens and plenty more inside. I have drug more sticks and stones than you can shake a stick or stone at!
Notice the piece around this arrangement. We found it in the creek up at the cabin and brought it home, cleaned it up and it graces a table in our living room along with a dried cactus root and a few other oddities. The one in this photo actually has crab claws, just not showing in the photo. I'll have to take another photo to show you.

That is very pretty, I like the whole arrangement. We were down in N.C. on vacation right after a Hurricane and RIc and the boys took the boat out just to look around and came back loaded with drift wood many smaller pieces and a lot of very large ones. They have been used for all kinds of things but the very biggest is sitting in my yard. It's a good 6ft long and maybe 4ft high. They couldn't get it in to the boat so it was towed into the dock.

That's a beauty! This is one my mother had from the Finger Lakes, I still have a chunk of it out front. It was huge too and she put cactus on it kinda of an outdoor shelving unit! My father had no good words when he moved this one!!!

Thanks it was something. Mom's been gone for many years now, but I still have the "big arm" on the right in my front bed with the helleborus and it still looks great. Not sure what became of the rest of it as the home was sold after dad died and I had no means to transport the entire piece to MD, now I wish I had found a way!
