Please show us your tree ornaments. I don't have any photos right now as I gave all the ornaments to our children as keepsakes for their trees. Put your hands to work in these cubits: Arrangements 101 and/or Hands at Work Share your travels with us at: Travel Junction - Contest |

This one was made with yarn, I made many using thread but that is hard to work with because it eventually cuts into my fingers when I am working diligently on something. HI I finally got time to check this cubit out more. Here's a favorite ornament my friends and family love. It is actually a potholder meant for just decoration when made with yarn as the pattern calls for. I used the instructions as written and size 10 thread and a size 9 steel hook to make them as ornaments. |

Very cute, great idea to shrink the size to an ornament. I wish I could find photos of more of mine, especially the ones made with threads and starched. Do you do a lot of other crochet as well, would love to see more. I've done just about every kind of crochet except Irish crochet which for some reason just frustrates me to try doing. Maybe one of these days I'll manage that one too. Here's a link to my photostream on Flickr that has the most recent projects I've done. I'm currently working on about 4 things at once though one of those are knitted. http://www.flickr.com/photos/yarnhooker/ |

Thank you. I do keep busy mostly with something someone else wants me to make seems like everytime I'm about to finish up that list someone else adds to it. I play hooky ever so often and work on just whatever I want to. Currently, I have an afghan almost finished, a cancer ribbon wall hanging waiting to be washed and put together, a knitted sweater for a little girl's Easter outfit almost finished just like the sleeves, collar and button bands on that. On the request list still is another sweater for another little girl's Easter outfit, a doily for my sister's secret sister's Easter gift and 4 of the doll bag holders like what was on the photostream. I fit all this in between housework and gardening now. |

Wow, that is amazing, how do you keep track of what you are doing and when? I would have long forgotten the pattern I was working on! You must be quite organized! Put your hands to work in these cubits: Arrangements 101 and/or Hands at Work Share your travels with us at: Travel Junction - Contest |

Heavens no. The afghan is one I can do from memory since I've made it so often, The wall hanging is one of my own designs and I won't know how it's going to look until I wash all the pieces and put the cancer ribbons on it (washing first keeps the pieces from shrinking and looking tacky afterwards and this is going to a dr's office) The sweater is also my own design and since it's knitted I have no trouble keeping up with that and it's on my other computer should I get lost. The second sweater will also be my own design I still like placing the butterfly motifs I'm going to use, the doily is a design I adapted from a tablecloth pattern I have and it's ready to print out and since it's thread I'll be able to keep up with everything on it too. |

I am really amazed at those who come up with their own designs, that is really creative. I am lucky to be able to follow a pattern, but have not ventured outside that box and surprises me because Steve and I are somewhat creative, but when it comes to crochet, I still need to count every stitch in the chain twice! ![]() Put your hands to work in these cubits: Arrangements 101 and/or Hands at Work Share your travels with us at: Travel Junction - Contest |

LOL don't give me too much credit in the design dept. I have a computer design program for the sweaters and am using other people's patterns for the heart and butterfly motifs I'm using. I also have a program for designing afghans but haven't installed it yet. The wall hanging is mostly my idea but I did use the pattern for the ribbons from the pin pattern in the booklet called Think PInk from Annie's Attic. It was made in thread in that pattern but came out the perfect size when I did it in yarn. Hopefully, I'll be able to put it together tomorrow if nothing else comes up. The design programs work for both knit and crochet but so far I've only used the one for knit. |

Well that is news to me, I had no idea there were design programs out there for knitting and crochet. See I do learn something new every day. At any rate I still think you are quite talented just to keep all your designs straight and in working order!
